Administrative Assistant and Human Resource Director

North Iowa Community School District is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant and Human Resource Director (260 day contract – 5 days/week)

Strong communication, management, supervision, and technology skills are required. Familiarity within the human resource field in the areas of advertising for open positions, organization of onboarding new staff, maintaining leave balances and payroll are preferred.  Candidates with an Associates degree in accounting or business will be prioritized. 

Associates Degree in Business or Accounting is preferred

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for all payroll, quarterly Social Security, IPERS, State and Federal reports and W-2 forms.
  2. Handle the employee group insurance, premiums, enrollments, claims, etc.
  3. Keep accurate records on all sick leave, personal leave, etc., for all employees.
  4. File required reports to Department of Education and AEA.
  5. HR duties include advertising open positions, background checks, management of application materials and personnel files.
  6. Update district employee manual. 
  7. Under supervision of School Business Official:
    1. Prepare accounts payable and receivable
    2. Keep separate account of each school fund
    3. Reconcile funds 
  8. To assist in other matters as may be delegated by the School Business Official or Superintendent.
Starting salary of $50,000 with a robust benefits package that includes single health insurance, IPERS, and opportunity for advancement.
