North Iowa High School and Bison Charities

Scholarship Fund Drive 2010

The North Iowa High School Scholarship Fund, which was established in 1997 and the Bison Charities Scholarship, established in 1999, continued to gain support this past year. The total local scholarship program this year was able to give over $25,000 in scholarships to graduates of the Class of 2010 from North Iowa High School. The combined efforts of the NIHS Scholarship Fund and Bison Charities have given over $300,000 to worthy area students since 1997. The great success can be attributed to generous individuals, families, and organizations that have sponsored local scholarships for our students. You too may also want to sponsor a scholarship as an individual, group or family in memory or honor of someone special. However, if that is too large of a financial commitment, you can also benefit a deserving student by contributing to the North Iowa Scholarship Fund or Bison Charities Fund in any feasible amount.

Any gift that you could bestow to either of these scholarship funds would keep an established tradition growing. All donors will be recognized during the annual fund drive in the Buffalo Center Tribune and Thompson Courier/Rake Register and also their names will be included in the graduation programs each year that they contribute. Also, if a donation of $100 or more is received in the North Iowa Scholarship Fund in honor or memory of a loved one, then that honored or memorialized person will have their name engraved on the plaque located in the gym lobby of North Iowa High School. The North Iowa High School Scholarship Fund is managed through the North Iowa Community School business office in special scholarship accounts. The Bison Charities Scholarship Fund is administered by the non-profit group called Bison Charities. Donations to the respective funds are tax deductible.
