LEAVING A LEGACY
You were given a gift of a high quality education when you attended Rake, Lakota, Thompson, Buffalo Center, or North Iowa. Along with your family, church, and community, the public school help build the foundation on which you have built a life and career.
Now you are considering giving something back to the school as a legacy.
Some of the areas you might consider are:
- Auditorium Renovation Fund
- the renovation of the auditorium in an attempt to restore the facility to its 1922 glamour and elegance yet with comfortable seats, new wiring, a new sound system, new lighting, and air conditioning.
- All contributions over $150 will have their names inscribed on a plaque
- Capital Improvements Fund
- Upcoming capital improvement projects include: rebuilding the south entrance at the high school, air conditioning for all third floor classrooms at the high school, new windows in the 1922 building, air locks at the middle school, new energy efficient walls and window in the elementary.
- All contributions over $250 will have their name inscribed on a plaque
- North Iowa Scholarships Fund - INFO HERE
- Each spring high school seniors apply for scholarships provided from a scholarship pool or for specific scholarships established in memory of a specific person or directed toward a specific area of study.
- Individual scholarship have criteria spelled out which applicants must meet and the criteria is set by the family or individual establishing the scholarship.
- Art Committee Fund
- The communities which make up the North Iowa Community School District are a great distance from major museums. For that reason the Art Committee was established to bring various forms of art medium into the lives of our students.
- Contributors to the Art Committee Fund may sponsor a specific piece to be purchased or donated to the school OR they may contribute to a pool from which various art forms will be purchased and displayed in our buildings.
- A contribution of $500 gets the name of the donor, organization, or memorial on a plaque mounted in close conjunction to the “Love of Learning” statue. The contributor/group will also have their story entered into a book which is on display and a computer program which may be viewed by the public and presented in a kiosk near the “Love of Learning” statue.
