DAY A (5)

 

Lunch menu:  popcorn chicken, fresh veggie with dip, banana half, sandwich.

 

7/8 girls’ basketball this week:

FRIDAY:  Practice will be held after school at Thompson.  Shuttle will leave Thompson at 5:15 and from B.C. at 5:30.  Sign up in the main office if you need a ride to Rake or Lakota.

 

7/8 wrestling meets:

FRIDAY: 7/8 wrestling meet at Clear Lake at 4:15.  Please excuse the wrestlers at 2:00.

 

8th grade DC participants:

If you have not done so already, please turn in your packet of forms to the main office ASAP .   The forms include rooming preferences, emergency contact & medical information, trip policy & codes of conduct and DC scholarship application.  Packing seminar will be held on February 28th at 7 p.m. in the Commons.  Please plan to attend this meeting.

Feb 9 (Thurs) – 7/8 Boys

Feb 13 (Mon) – all from now on

 

Make-up days for Jan. 20 and Jan. 23 will be April 5 and April 6.

 

Pep Rally--We will have a Winter Athletics pep rally today, from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m.  All MS and HS students will report to the gymnasium (this is a change) after 8th period.  Students will sit on the south side the WEST END of bleachers.   Periods 6 through 8 will be shortened.  There will not be opt out day today.

 

Girl’s basketball practice will be in Buffalo Center today after school.

 

Archery participants need to see Mrs. Steffensen today for tournament information and t-shirt order forms.

 

Students should be done eating breakfast before 1st period.  You MUST EAT early enough to ensure you will make it to your first class on time!!

 

6th & 7th students need to have the top of the lockers cleaned off by the end of Friday.  Any items found on top will be put into lost and found.

 

Any items for the McGrady family should be brought to Mrs. Lawson’s classroom.  Any money to help the McGrady family should be turned into Sheryl Davids in the Business Office.

 

ABSENCES--Students are reminded that they are not allowed to participate and/or attend school activities if they have missed that day of school or the last half of the school day.  Please ask Mr. Embrock if you have any questions in regards to this.

 

Driver’s Education Sign-up:

North Iowa is offering one session of classes and 2 options for student driving times.  Class sessions for all students will begin March 3rd and will run through May 12th.  You can attend classes without a driving permit as long as you hold a driving permit before your first scheduled drive.  The spring drives will be held on Saturdays after class and after school during the week days.  The summer driving option will start after school is out for the summer and will end before July 4th.  The deadline to sign up is Feb. 24th.  Stop by the main office to pick up a form that needs to be returned with a down payment of half of the course fee.  Classes will be held in the Buffalo Center Ag. Science classroom and will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.  The tuition for this year is $220 (in district) and $240 (out of district).  Half of the course fee needs to be paid at sign-up and half before the first day of class.  No refunds will be made for failure to complete the course.

 

“Way Above the Line” - Shoe earners will be announced on Mondays and will be at the front of the lunch line on Tuesdays.  Step Up!  Be respectful… Be responsible… Be a Bison!
