ALL STUDENTS TO THE GYM AT 12:45 – LEAVE FOR B.C. AT 1:10 FOR PEP RALLY AND PARADE.

Student council elections – will be this morning during advisor/advisee time.

 

Due to the homecoming schedule, there will be no band lessons with Mr. Cook today.

 

The 8th grade football team hosted Osage yesterday afternoon.  North Iowa built an early 36-0 halftime lead, and posted a 50-0 victory over the Green Devils. The 8th Grade team will travel to Belmond next Thursday, October 9th to take on the Broncos.

 

Those 8th graders helping with the trash patrol – report to the concession stand at the end of the game tonight.

 

7th & 8th FB boys – pick up your FB jerseys after advisor/advisee this morning.

 

REMINDERS:

 

Punt, Pass & Kick Competition – Friday, Oct. 3rd – at Bison Football Field after the homecoming parade – for ages 7-14 - each participant will receive a free juice drink, candy bar and certificate for a hamburger special at the B.C. Restaurant.  Bring your completed form with you.

 

Van Reese Fundraiser – During homecoming week, there will be a competition between seminars at the high school, middle school advisee groups, and elementary grades to see who can contribute the most funds toward the Van Reese family’s expenses due to a recent fire at their home.  The winning groups will be receive an ice cream party.  (Any checks should be made payable to Van Reese Family Benefit.)

 

Fall conference forms – if parents have a preference for a day and/or time, forms need to be turned in by Friday, Oct. 3rd.   Scheduling will be done next week - with letters (with appointment times) being distributed after that.  Conferences will be held at Buffalo Center on Tuesday, Oct. 28th and Thursday, Oct. 30th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

 

Lifetouch picture retake day will be Friday, Oct. 10th – for students wanting retakes or for those that were absent 9/8/08.   Photographers will start out in B.C. at 8:30 a.m.  They requested elementary students first, then high school – then they will come over to the MS after that.

 

7/8 football and 7/8 volleyball schedule –

Friday – Homecoming – no practices – no shuttle.

Monday – 7/8 VB games at Woden at 4:15 – bus leaves at 3:15.  7/8 FB practice after school – shuttle leaves Thompson at 5:30.

Tuesday – 7/8 VB & 8th FB practices after school – shuttle leaves Thompson at 5:30.  7th FB game at Forest City at 4:15 – bus leaves at 3:20.

Wednesday – 7/8 FB & 7/8 VB practices after school – shuttle leaves Thompson at 5:30.  STUDY TABLES WILL BE HELD AFTER SCHOOL.

Thursday – 7/8 VB games at Lake Mills at 4:15 – bus leaves at 3:20.   7/8 FB games at Belmond at 4:00 – bus leaves at 2:30.

Friday – 7/8 FB & 7/8 VB practices after school – shuttle leaves Thompson at 4:50 due to the varsity FB game at Garrigan.
