Today  6th grade field trip to Albert Lea – Big Island Education Days – leaving Thompson at 8:30 a.m. – returning around 3:15 p.m.

 

Fall conference forms – if parents have a preference for a day and/or time, forms need to be turned in by Friday, Oct. 3rd.   Scheduling will be done next week - with letters (with appointment times) being distributed after that.  Conferences will be held at Buffalo Center on Tuesday, Oct. 28th and Thursday, Oct. 30th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

 

REMINDERS:

 

Student council elections – will be Friday morning during advisor/advisee time.

 

Punt, Pass & Kick Competition – Friday, Oct. 3rd – at Bison Football Field after the homecoming parade – for ages 7-14 – forms were distributed 9/24/08 – each participant will receive a free juice drink, candy bar and certificate for a hamburger special at the B.C. Restaurant.  More forms are available in the cafeteria and the office.  Bring your completed form with you that day.  Volunteers are needed to help with the Punt, Pass & Kick Competition.  Please call Mike Kettwick (562-2696 bank or 561-2883 home).

 

The varsity football cheerleaders will be selling tattoos, buttons and poms this Friday before school.  They will be here from 7:00 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. They will be selling tattoos for $1.00 each, buttons for $2.00, and poms will be $2.50. This year they will also be selling some of the old cheerleading pom poms - this is a first come, first serve basis. They will be sold for $3.50 a piece.

 

Dress-up days at the middle school - for homecoming week –

Wednesday – Pajama Day;

Thursday – Crazy Day;

Friday – Spirit Day;

Rule of good taste applies.

 

Van Reese Fundraiser – During homecoming week, there will be a competition between seminars at the high school, middle school advisee groups, and elementary grades to see who can contribute the most funds toward the Van Reese family’s expenses due to a recent fire at their home.  The winning groups will be receive an ice cream party.  (Any checks should be made payable to Van Reese Family Benefit.)

 

Lifetouch picture retake day will be Friday, Oct. 10th – for students wanting retakes or for those that were absent 9/8/08.   Photographers will start out in B.C. at 8:30 a.m.  They requested elementary students first, then high school – then they will come over to the MS after that.

 

7/8 football and 7/8 volleyball schedule

Thursday – 8th FB home game with Osage at 4:30.  7/8 VB and 7th FB practices after school – shuttle leaves at 5:30.

Friday – Homecoming – no practices – no shuttle.
