Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated at the middle school next week:

Monday is wear red day; Tuesday is hat day (pay 25 cents to wear a hat for the day); and Thursday is Red Ribbon Olympics from 2:30 - 3:30.

 

Today’s schedule – 6th period 1:00-1:30, 7th period 1:30-2:00, 8th period 2:00-2:30.  At 2:30, all students report to advisors - then to the gym.  Teachers will have the VB brackets.

 

Congratulations to the 7th grade volleyball team on winning seven out of seven last night. It was a great way to end the season. Top servers were Carly Main, Rachel Boekelman and Alyssa Knudson. Thanks for all of your hard work this season.  The 8th grade volleyball team had a successful end to their season winning 8 out of 8 games against Garner last night. Strong serves, hustle, and a desire for ice cream helped to motivate the team.  Volleyball party after school today. Be sure to sign up for the shuttle bus.

 

The 8th grade football team finished their season with a 34-14 victory over Lake Mills.  Thanks for all the hard work and effort that you put into the season.  We really appreciated it!  Coach Nelson and Coach Hinders

 

Congratulations to the middle school girls and boys cross country teams on an excellent ending to the season at the conference meet in Mason City last night. The times that people ran were some of the best of the season. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication!

 

8th graders – meet at the concession stand at the end of the game tonight for trash patrol.

 

Destination DC bake sale – at the concert Tuesday, Oct. 21st.  All 8th graders should bring baked items for sale.

 

Volleyball girls - turn your uniforms in to Mrs. Steffensen.

 

Next Tuesday, Oct. 21st – MS vocal concert at 7:00 p.m. in the MS gym.  Next Wednesday, Oct. 22nd – staff development – no school.  Next Friday, Oct. 24th – 8th grade field trip to St. Paul:  6:15 a.m. leave from Thompson; 6:30 a.m. leave from B.C.; 6:45 a.m. leave from Rake THEN 5:30 p.m. return to Rake (approx.); 5:45 p.m. return to B.C. (approx.); 6:00 p.m. return to Thompson (approx.).

 

REMINDERS:

 

6th & 7th intramural soccer practice – after school next week on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday – permission slips were distributed Oct. 14th  for 6th & 7th graders.

 

Fall conferences – will be held Oct. 28th and Oct. 30th in B.C.  Appointment letters for K-8th will be distributed this week.  No school on Friday, Oct. 31st.

 

7/8 football and 7/8 volleyball schedule –

Friday – FB players will turn in equipment after school; VB party after school – shuttle will leave Thompson at 5:00.

Monday – 6/7 soccer practice after school – shuttle leaves Thompson at 5:00 – sign up during your lunch if you need a ride.

Tuesday – 6/7 soccer practice after school – shuttle leaves Thompson at 5:00 – sign up during your lunch if you need a ride.

Wednesday – Staff Development – no school – no practices.

Thursday – 6/7 soccer practice after school – shuttle leaves Thompson at 5:00 – sign up during your lunch if you need a ride.

Friday – no practices after school – no shuttle - 6/7 soccer at half-time of the varsity football game.

 

National School Lunch Week:  Oct. 13-17, 2008
