Special Congratulations to the 7th grade boys on there 1st place finish at the Lake Mills Track Meet last night. They finished with 121 points with Forest City having in 2nd. Records were set in 4 events: Jordan Anderson in the 1600 run, and in 3 relays - the 4 X 800 with Eric Krull, Kory Hobbs, Brandon Willmert and Justin Murray. The 1600 Medley with Troy Kettwick, Eric Krull, Mark Milbrandt, and Jordan Anderson- and the 4 X 400 Relay of Frank Campos, Mark Milbrandt, Justin Murray, and Jordan Anderson. Keep up the good work and enjoy the day off. The 8th grade also ran well finishing with 29 1/2 points and several good relay finishes. Thanks to everyone for a great meet.

Thursday, May 1^st – any 8^th grade girls interested in playing high school softball – please meet in the ICN room at 12:10. Doug Aukes

Waldorf girls’ basketball camp materials can be picked up in the office by any girls entering 6th through 9th grade next year if you are interested.

All students are encouraged to enter a design for the cover of the 2007-2008 K-8 Annual. If you win, you will receive an annual FREE. Entries may be computer generated or done freehand. Works will be judged on neatness, creativity and good use of color. Give your finished work to Mrs. Coy or turn in to the office by May 16.

Thursday, May 1^st – 5^th grade field trip to Des Moines:

Leaving Lakota at 5:45 a.m., 6:00 a.m. at B.C., 6:15 a.m. at Thompson;

Returning approximately 5:15 p.m. at Thompson, 5:30 p.m. at B.C., 5:45 p.m. at Lakota.

Friday, May 2^nd – the following classes should meet in the media center for the writing contest award presentations:

5^th grade – 3^rd period, 6^th grade – 4^th period, 7^th grade – 5^th period (11:28-12:08), 8^th grade – 6^th period.

North Iowa Tackle Football 2008 – for 4^th and 5^th graders – informational sheets were distributed last Friday – remember to meet on Friday, May 2^nd (3:30-5:00) at Ag Performance (215 N. Main Street, BC) for registration and equipment fitting.

Any girls interested in playing summer softball in Lakota - please sign up in the office. Write your name and the grade you are just finishing. There will be a short practice on Friday, May 23rd at 2:30 at the Lakota ball diamond for those who can make it.

NI Bison T-shirt Sale - order forms were being distributed last Friday. Orders are due back to the office by Monday, May 5^th.

Adventureland tickets (Des Moines) – Mr. Pilgrim is making available the following opportunity for NIMS staff and students: Regular ticket (10 years and older) at $19.00 per ticket instead of the full price ($31.00). Mr. Pilgrim can order up to 30 tickets so it will be on a first come, first serve basis. Please bring money to the office by May 10^th if you are interested. A brochure is available to look at in the office.

PRACTICES THIS WEEK:

Wednesday – 1:30/1:50 DISMISSAL – NO PRACTICES – NO SHUTTLE.

Thursday – 7/8 G track meet at Lake Mills at 4:30 - bus leaves at 3:25. 7/8 B track practice after school – shuttle leaves Thompson at 5:00.

Friday – 7/8 B track meet at Garner at 4:30 – bus leaves at 3:15. 7/8 G track practice after school - shuttle leaves Thompson at 5:00.

Mid-term was Wednesday, April 23^rd. Reports will be distributed this week.
