Great Homecoming Week!  The decorating, pep rally, skits, parade, etc. were all super!  Bison pride is overflowing.  Thanks for making Homecoming 2008 such a positive experience.

 

Congratulations to the FB team on their 58-0 Homecoming victory last Friday!

 

All decorating committees needs to clean up after Homecoming sometime today.  Please do not put hallway and door decorations in the regular trash.  You can get larger black garbage sacks from the HS office.  Windows need to be thoroughly cleaned, trash picked up, items off lockers related to Homecoming, skits props returned, etc.

 

The following students need to see Mr. Embrock during Seminar or lunch today:  Philip Griese, Chris Stefan, Caleb Angel, Harley Wiedermeier, Coleen Arnold, Alisa Arnold, Katie Langfald, and Ben Bromeland.

 

Student Council meeting today during 1st lunch in the multipurpose room.

 

Senior window painting committee, please meet in Mrs. Recker's room today during seminar to finish cleaning windows.

 

There will be a BRIEF quiz bowl meeting at 11:45 on Wednesday in Mr. Potter’s room.  This is to discuss our first meet at Bishop Garrigan – it should take 10 minutes or less.

 

Please dismiss the cross country team today at 2:30 for their meet at Eagle Grove.  Thank you.

 

There will be a meeting for the North Iowa Blood Drive volunteers on Monday, 10-06-08 at 12:01 pm to 12:30 pm in Mrs. Aukes office.  If you would like to help organize and work at our October 28th blood drive, please contact Mrs. Aukes at aukes@northiowa.org .  I will give you a pass for your seminar teacher to excuse you for the 10-06-08 meeting. Thank you.

 

Any student who is tardy for any class will be serving 15 minutes detention for their first tardy and 30 minutes any tardy thereafter.  Also, students must have their parent/guardian excuse them for any absence, part of a day or full day, or the absence will be considered unexcused.  An unexcused absence will result in detention time, ISS, or lunch in the HS office.  Please make sure your parents communicate any of your absences with the HS office.

 

Lifetouch picture retakes will be taken on Friday, October 10th.  They will start with elementary and then take high school.

 

Pick up Jr. magazine sales prizes from the office today.  Thanks!

 

Those students who were contacted about taking the PSAT – NMSQT Test on October 15th need to get their test fees paid to Mr. Huntington by the end of this week.  Make checks payable to North Iowa High School.

 

Any Juniors and Seniors interested in attending the University of Iowa ICN Visit on Wednesday at 10:15-11:30 need to sign up in Mr. Huntington’s Room today.  This is the only visit that the U of Iowa does for our school.

 

Matt Washburn, Conservation Officer with the Iowa DNR, will be giving a career talk about opportunities in conservation and natural resources work on Friday, October 10 starting at 8:00 in the ICN room.  Let Mr. Huntington know if you are interested in attending.

 

FCCLA members that are planning to ride the Iowa bus  to the Cluster Meeting in Dallas, Texas, in November will need to bring a check for $115  (or cash)  to Mrs. Larsen by Wednesday, October 8th, to guarantee a seat on the bus.
