Congratulations to Chad Olthoff and McKayla Heetland for showing the most school spirit this week! Both will receive 25 points for their class and spirit awards!!

 

Due to the lack of SPIRIT last week at all the activities ALL classes are will receive 3rd place this week.

 

We still have a month of Fall Activities left! There is still plenty of time for any of the four classes to win that ice cream social! GO BIG BLUE!

 

Great Job Juniors!!!—Final tally for magazine sales is $4080.00.  You will keep approximately $1640.00 for your Prom.  If you have any orders/money yet to turn in, please do this today or tomorrow at the latest!  Thanks!!

 

FFA officers please meet with Mr. Meyer at 7:45 am Thursday morning, Oct 1st, in the Ag room.

 

We are trying to get a pep bus to go to Southeast Webster Grand (in Burnside) for the varsity FB game this Friday night!  We need to have about 30 students signed by 8:25 am tomorrow morning in order for us to have one.  Please sign up in the HS office and pay $3.00.

 

All A.M. P.E. students will meet in the HS Auditorium during Seminar tomorrow.

 

The yearbook staff will meet tomorrow during seminar in the multipurpose room.

 

Buffalo Center Swimming pool shirts can be picked up at the Drivers Choice Restaurant.  Talk to Jim or Sue.  Cost is $11 each.

 

SE Webster's After Prom committee will be selling grilled pork patties and french fries at this Friday's football game.  Serving starts at 6:45. Gates open @ 6:15.)

 

All FCCLA members need to bring 1 package of Tootsie Pops to the FCS room by Oct. 19th.  We will be making ghost suckers at the meeting on the 19th to sell around Halloween.

 

All FCCLA members need to get their dues paid as soon as possible.  We must send $12 per member to the national office by Nov. 1.   Please bring cash or a check and give it to Mrs. Larsen or Kaylan Hobbs.  Your will receive a treat from Mrs. Larsen when you pay your dues! Thanks!

 

Swing Choir will rehearse on Friday, October 2 at 7:30 a.m. in the choir room.

College reps will be here this week as follows:  today Iowa State at 11:25; National Guard here Thursday during lunch; Iowa Central at 11:25 on Friday.

 

There is a sign-up sheet outside Mr. Potter’s room for anyone interested in Quiz Bowl this year.  Our first competition is October 17th, so be sure to sign up this week!

 

Seniors apply to the Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship.  The deadline is Thursday, October 1st.  If at least 5 students from our school apply, we will be eligible for $500 to be put toward our scholarship fund.  Go to www.wendysheisman.com

 

Juniors—Students are need to sign up to ride the cruzin cooler and sell tickets in the stands each Friday night at home ballgames.  Let Mary Berkeland know if you are interested.  Thanks!

Juniors—Please turn in all After Prom raffle money and tickets to Vicki in the office.  Please do this daily, so money is not lying around and can be deposited.  Please sign up to work at volleyball and football games to sell tickets and we also need riders.  Please remember this is for you to have a great After Prom.

 

Students and Parents--Just a reminder concerning lunch and be sure to check your lunch balance online – if your account is negative you will need to pay cash for seconds or you are not allowed seconds.  Students and teachers are reminded to sign up for lunch if you plan to eat.  This helps the cooks know how much food to prepare to have enough for everyone.

 

K-12 Retake Picture Day is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13th.  Photographers will start out in Thompson at 8:30 and then go over to B.C.  This is for any staff members or students that were absent on August 31st – or for anyone that wants a retake.  If it is for a retake, please have them bring their original packet with them that day.

 

Junior and Senior female students interested in a career related to Math and Science need to talk to Mr. Hemiller about attending a conference at Iowa State University on Thursday, October 15th.  Please see Mr. Hemiller for more information.

 

Mr. Hemiller will be collecting can tabs now through October for an organization that will donate them to the Ronald McDonald house.  Please bring can tabs to his room.
