Congratulations to the Junior class for moving up out of the 4th place spot into FIRST place this week with the most school spirit! Second place was the Sophomore class, Third place went to the Senior class. And the Freshman are in the 4th place spot. 

 

Congratulations to Holden Asmus and Brandy Newton for showing the most school spirit this week! Both will receive 25 points for thier class and spirit awards!!

 

It's HOMECOMING week and should be full of Bison Spirit! You guys have been doing AWESOME so far, it's time to kick it up a notch for Homecoming week and really show your Bison Pride!

 

We will have a shortened schedule today to decorate for Homecoming.

Schedule is as follows:  8:25 – 9:22 period 1; 9:27- 10:22 period 2; 10:27 – 11:22 period 3; seminar – 11:27 – 11:56; lunch – 12:01-12:30; 12:35 – 1:30 period 4.  All students will be dismissed from class at 1:30 pm and report to their class sponsors to decorate.  Students, you are reminded that NOBODY is to be driving during this time.

 

Today any student who has an overdue assignment or work that needs to be made up will report to Mr. Zenk’s room for study hall rather than decorate for Homecoming.  Teachers will submit a list to Mr. Embrock by the end of first period.  Also students with overdue detention time need to report to Mr. Zenk’s room or make arrangements with Mr. Embrock.

 

Junior float committee should meet in the art room at 1:30.

 

The Class Sponsor Door Decorating has been extended to Wednesday at 3:30pm. Please use the next two days to get those doors looking good and ready for Homecoming! Thanks!

 

Thursday’s Homecoming activities –grill out, fun night, and coronation--will all be out at Bison field.

 

The bus for tonight's volleyball game at Mason City-Newman will leave from the school at 4:00. Volleyball girls and managers, please be ready to walk onto the bus by 3:55. Thank you, Coach Engelbarts

Seniors apply to the Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship.  The deadline is October 1st.  If at least 5 students from our school apply, we will be eligible for $500 to be put toward our scholarship fund.  Go to www.wendysheisman.com

 

The Methodist Church (across the street south) will be holding Bible Study and will need parking available in front of the church from 12 pm-3 pm. every Wednesday. Please make sure every Wednesday throughout the year you do not have your vehicle parked in front of the church.  Thanks!

 

Juniors—Students are need to sign up to ride the cruzin cooler and sell tickets in the stands each Friday night at home ballgames.  Let Mary Berkeland know if you are interested.  Thanks!

 

ATTENTION Junior Class!  The magazine sales will end this Friday, September 24th. Your HELP is NEEDED today! Your one and ONLY fundraiser for PROM is happening NOW!  Get out and sell today after school!!

 

Students and Parents--Just a reminder concerning lunch and be sure to check your lunch balance online – if your account is negative you will need to pay cash for seconds or you are not allowed seconds.  Students and teachers are reminded to sign up for lunch if you plan to eat.  This helps the cooks know how much food to prepare to have enough for everyone.

 

Juniors—Please turn in all raffle money and tickets to Vicki in the office.  Please do this daily, so money is not lying around and can be deposited.  Please sign up to work at volleyball and football games to sell tickets and we also need riders.  Please remember this is for your to have a great After Prom.

 

Students:  The office needs the Race/Ethnicity sheets returned to the office a.s.a.p.  These were given to you for your parents to fill out and need to be returned by each individual in the school.  The report must be turned in to the state department by October 1st. 

 

K-12 Retake Picture Day is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13th.  Photographers will start out in Thompson at 8:30 and then go over to B.C.  This is for any staff members or students that were absent on August 31st – or for anyone that wants a retake.  If it is for a retake, please have them bring their original packet with them that day.

 

Junior and Senior female students interested in a career related to Math and Science need to talk to Mr. Hemiller about attending a conference at Iowa State University on Thursday, October 15th.  Please see Mr. Hemiller for more information.

 

Mr. Hemiller will be collecting can tabs now through October for an organization that will donate them to the Ronald McDonald house.  Please bring can tabs to his room.

 

Little Bison Childcare Center is looking for a high school student to work after school and on no-school days.  Have to be 16 years old. Stop down at the daycare for an application.
