Lunch today is:  Hot dog on bun, sweet potato waffle fries, watermelon,

 

We need to have 5 more students to sign up for the pep bus to Clay Central Everly.  Noon today is the deadline.  Sign up and pay in the office.  Bus will leave at 3:45 from BC and will pick up in Lakota at 3:55 and drop off on the way home.

 

Students will have the opportunity to opt out of 9th period starting this week on Friday, September 16.  Students need to have an Opt Out permission form signed and turned back into the office before Friday.  Students eligible to opt out of 9th period must have all homework completed for teachers, have positive attendance, and no disciplinary issues.

 

Please dismiss football players at 3:15 today.  There are pictures at this time.

 

8th period weight lifting students will stay with Mr. Anderson until 3:15 on Thursday. They will report to 9th period at that time unless they are a football player.

 

Please check the LOST AND FOUND in the girls locker room.

 

Congratulations to Kory Hobbs (HS), Weston Martinson (MS) and Amber Embrock (ELEM) for being chosen as fans of the week last week!

 

The following students should pick up their 2010-11 high school yearbook from the main office-Gabe Thomsen, Reese Nelson.

 

Freshmen will not have an Opt-Out day on Friday, instead there will be a freshmen class meeting on Friday at 3:00 in the auditorium for all freshmen.  This is a mandatory meeting for all freshmen.

 

There will be a Yearbook meeting today during lunch in the elementary media center.  If you are interested in being on the yearbook staff and have time to commit to this please come with your lunch trays to the elementary media center as soon as you can.  Since you have a meeting you may go to the front of the line. 

 

“Attention high school athletes!  Show your school spirit by purchasing a yard sign with your name and sports on it.  The athletic boosters are donating the signs to all high school athletes in all sports, so all you have to do is buy your name and sports decals.  The sign will be ready to put in your yard Homecoming Week, so it would be great to see as many signs as possible throughout all 4 towns and the countryside!  Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer sports participants are encouraged to purchase now, but a second order can be placed later in the year.  Order forms are available in the HS office and on the NI homepage.  Forms and payments should be returned to the HS office by next Wednesday, Sept. 21st .”

Deadline to register for the ACT test on October 22 is this Friday, (tomorrow) September 16.  Go to www.actstudent.org our high school code is 160535.

 

Reminder that the Neff rep will be here today for letter jacket fittings and orders over the lunch hour in the auditorium. Pick up your order packet in Vickis office and remember to make your checks out to NEFF-not the school!!

 

Sophomores—Get your slip today and have your parents sign for permission for your Open House next week.  These are for students whose parents attended Open House on Aug. 23  or Aug. 24th.  Students need to turn in a Parental Permission slip signed by your parent to have Open Campus. Juniors will have Open Campus the week of September 24-28 (Homecoming week).  A list of students eligible for this lunch open campus during the designated weeks has been given to the Homeroom advisors.  If you are unsure of this privilege, please see your homeroom teacher today.

 

There will be a Speech Meeting on Monday, Sept. 19th during 9th hour in the MS Media Center.  This is an informational meeting on what Speech is all about and the upcoming Speech dates for the year.  If you’re curious please come and check out Speech.

 

There will be an organizational meeting for HS students this coming Monday, Sept. 19th, at 2:55 pm in Mrs. Aukes office.  This meeting is to plan for our Oct. 13th blood drive.  Please see Mrs. Aukes if you want to help organize the blood drive.

 

 

FCCLA members need to turn in Thirty-one orders by Tuesday, September 20th to Mrs. Larsen.  The top sales person will earn a free cosmetic bag or a utility tote.  All members that sell $200 in products may chose a free wrist wallet.  There will be a FCCLA meeting Monday, Sept. 19th at 7:00 p.m. in FCS room.

 

Students: At our athletic events, please remember to represent North Iowa well by standing during the National Anthem and the introduction of our participants and the opposing participants.  Bison Pride includes good sportsmanship!

 

Just a reminder when attending North Iowa home events that no outside food or drinks are to be allowed into the event.  Please use the regular entrances do not come/leave through open gym doors.  Once you are in an event and decide to leave you will not be readmitted unless administrative approval has been granted beforehand.

If you are interested in taking the ACT test at North Iowa High School on Saturday, October 22.  You need to register and pay fees by September 16th.  Go to www.actstudent.org to register. Use MasterCard, VISA, or Discover to pay for the exam.  The North Iowa High School Code is 160535.   See Mr. Huntington if you need further information.  The North Iowa Test Center has a capacity of 30, so don’t wait to the last minute or you will be taking it in Algona or Mason City.

H.S. students—If you have Open Campus, please do not bring items back to the classrooms to eat.  Seniors need to eat in the Commons or somewhere outside of school. 

 

Students are reminded when leaving their classrooms they are required to sign out and back in in that classroom.  Each classroom teacher will have a checkout sheet provided for you to sign out and in.
