The FFA members going to Thompson tomorrow, you will be leaving at 8:00 am from Mr. Meyer’s room. Please wear your FFA T-shirt.
Student Council Members: We will have a working lunch meeting today, Wednesday, September 8th, in the Multi-Purpose Room. Leave your 5th hour class and immediately head to the lunch room to get your meal. You have been given permission to move to the front of the line so that you can get your meal quickly and head directly up to the MPR for our meeting. We will be discussing Homecoming. Everyone needs to be there- help remind others! Thank you! ~Mrs. Recker
Sophomores will be taking the math computation test during 9th period (study hall) tomorrow, September 9.
9th period study hall tomorrow students who are willing to help with lights, sound, makeup, costumes, and set construction for the Fall Play are to report to Mr. Fisher's room # for a Technical meeting.
Orders for cheerleading t-shirts need to be paid for by next Wednesday (Sept 15th). Shirts not paid for will not be ordered.
You can start bringing in dry goods for the can drive any time! Please make sure that you are depositing in YOUR CLASS box so you get the credit for them!
Yellow volunteer hour slips are available in Mr. Huntington’s office. Track your volunteer hours and turn all your slips in by Friday noon to Mr. H so we can count class hours. CAN DRIVE BOX LOCATIONS:
Seniors: Mr. Potter / Mrs. Engeseth
Juniors: Mrs. De Boer / Mr. Fisher
Sophomores: Mrs. Recker / Mrs. Peake / Mr. Hemiller

Items the Food Bank is in need of:
Canned fruit
Canned veggies especially peas
Hamburger Helper type boxed meals
Rice/Rice-a-Roni
Paper goods: Dish soap, Bar soap, Toilet paper, Kleenex
Any nonperishable items will be accepted.
Food items will be worth 1 point per lb. Paper products will be worth 1 point per item.
Items must be turned in by the start of 5th hour Friday so we can weigh them.
Just a reminder that if you would like seconds at lunch or breakfast you need to have money in your account. You can also pay in the lunch line. Extra at lunch is 75 cents, extra milk is 25 cents. Breakfast – extra juice is 25 cents, second breakfast is $1.25. Also, when getting seconds in the lunch line it takes the computer a couple seconds to process, please do not leave until Vicki says it is ok. Low balance notices will be handed out tomorrow.
Support your Lady Bison Volleyball in Osage on Thursday. Football Friday takes us to Akron, IA! Good luck with your volunteer hours and don't forget the CAN DRIVE!
Everyone should have gotten an email explaining this weeks theme, two competitions and dress up day Thursday. If not, please check the bulletin board across from Vicki's office.
Please dismiss the football players at 1:20 on Friday.
Students are reminded to always bring your activity tickets to home ballgames. This is if you have purchased them.
At home activities, please do not bring outside drinks or food into ballgames with you.
Students are asked to pick up after themselves when attending ballgames, meaning before you leave, please pick up trash and throw it in the containers provided.
North Iowa High School hosts the ACT test on Saturday, October 23. Registration Deadline is September 17th. Go to www.actstudent.org to register. The cost is $33 for the standard test and $48 with writing. See Mr. Huntington if you have questions.
ALL new FFA members please stop by to see Mr. Meyer so we can get you measured for your FFA Jacket. FFA Dues are $16 and MUST be paid by Oct 1st.
Student interested in trying out for speaking roles for the Fall Play will be given scripts to look over before auditions 9/2, 9/3, 9/7, and 9/8 (before and after school) in Mr. Fisher’s room (Rm 16). The play will be cast by September 9th.
We will continue to have 2 lines for lunch with 2 separate windows to access. You will receive your main food items, silverware, and napkins at one of the windows. Students need to grab their milk before getting to Mrs. Berschman. Thanks for your cooperation with this change.
Lunch permission forms are in the office if students need to eat lunch at home. This would be only for students who live in town and/or within 1 mile from the school. The permission forms need to by signed by parent and student and then returned to the high school office.
HS students need to be more mindful and respectful of our HS dress code. Please abide by the following found in your HS student handbook (found in your planner also):
· Students are expected to dress appropriately and respectfully. The following clothing is considered inappropriate: any clothing that reveals undergarments or certain body parts (breasts, butt, or other private body parts); clothing that is overly tight and/or revealing; clothing with inappropriate wording or connotation; clothing with obscene or indecent sayings or pictures; clothing that advertises alcohol/tobacco/drugs; and wearing a cap or other head dress (bandana, hood, etc.) while in the school building during school hours.
Students need to sign in or out of the HS office when leaving school or returning to school.
