DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

8/30/2007

General

Attendance is vitally important to your learning and success in your academics.  It is difficult for teachers to give you instruction and help you when you are not present.  According to the student handbook, students can miss only 5 days of each class per semester.  You need to be fully aware of this and avoid missing class.  Keep in mind that your future employers will be asking about your attendance at school.  If you absolutely need to be absent from class/school, please bring in a note or have your parent/guardian contact the HS office.  If you have any questions about the attendance policy, refer to your student handbook or talk to Mr. Embrock.

Please bring your book bags to your locker or the locker room before coming to lunch and any other time during the school day.  We cannot have them sitting in the hallways.  This is a fire hazard.  Thank you, Mr. Embrock

ATTENTION STUDENTS:  The following students have a change in their P.E. schedule for 1st hour on B days.  Students with A-L will have P.E. today (Thursday), then Monday N through Z will report to P.E. 1st hour.

You are welcome to play with the basketballs and volleyballs in the gym during lunch as long as you put all of the balls away at the end of the period.  Thank you.

I want to congratulate the players and coaches that made up the JV and varsity baseball teams this summer.  The athletic union just sent the sportsmanship rankings and once again the players and coaches ranked in the top 10% of all the schools in the state. This does not surprise me, as every player was a pleasure to be around, but it is great to see it on an official document from the athletic union. Thanks very much for the outstanding character and sportsmanship that you give. --Mr. Ewest

All State and Choral Fest participants:  Remember we are having our first meeting/rehearsal tomorrow (Friday, August 31) at 7:15 a.m. in the high school music room.  Mrs. Kettwick

Nick Christians and Brandy Chodur please see Ms. Smith during seminar today.

Students who need to ride activity shuttle bus after extracurricular activities each evening, should sign up in the high school office each day before 3rd period.  You are required to sign up if you want to ride.  After 3rd period begins is too late to sign up, so please get into the habit of doing this each morning that you need to ride.

Sophomores will take the district wide math computation test during their seminar on Tuesday, September 4.  No calculators are allowed, however, IEPs will be followed.  The test will be given in the MPR, you will need to bring something to write with and homework in case you finish early.

Fall play tryouts are today from 5:30-8:30.
