Hepatitis B and meningococcal vaccinations will be given to seniors today around 8:35 am in Mrs. Aukes office.   You will be called out of class when needed.

FCCLA will meet Wed. May 11th at 7:45 in the FCS room. Breakfast will be provided by Mrs. Larsen. Please bring a roll of duct tape to the meeting!

Attention Seniors: There will be a Senior Class Photo taken for the yearbook TODAY. Seniors are excused from their classes at 11:55pm to meet at the entrance by Mr. Myer’s office (the superintendent) to load a bus. The bus will leave at 12:00pm. PLEASE BE PROMPT!

Also a yearbook meeting will be held TODAY in the Elementary for anyone that did a Fall page in the yearbook.  Finalize your pages before the meeting so we will be able to do a final edit and talk about the pages.  Another meeting will be set up for the end of the week for Winter pages to do the same thing.

The golf State ranking by IAHSGCA ranked Eric Krull #1 in the state for class 1A. GREAT JOB, ERIC!!!!

Congratulations to the boys golf team for finishing 6th in the NIC and Eric Krull for his 76. This makes him the medalist.

The girls placed 4th overall with Haley Engelbarts and Jessica Bruhns ranked 10^th. Good job!!

The boys and girls varsity golf team can be excused at 2:40 for there golf meet with CWL. Anyone needing a ride meet on the west side of the school.

Varsity Golf today vs. CWL @ Gruis Recreation Area will be starting at 3:30.

Freshman PE/Health- report to study hall 7th period today.

Band Members need to be here at 6:40 tonight for the 7:00 concert.

Congratulations to the following students for being selected as April Students of the Month:  Logan Hovland, Macy Heetland, Troy Kettwick, and Rachel Boekelman.  These students have demonstrated positive Citizenship traits and have represented our school and communities well.  Students of the Month for April check your emails for a questionnaire to fill out. Congratulations!!

Varsity softball practice begins at 3:45 after school today.  Those in golf/track report to practice after your golf or track practice.  Also for anyone who can make it, hitting practice will begin today and Friday mornings from 7:00 to 7:45 at the softball field. 

The senior check-out sheets will be available Friday morning.

All Sophomores and Juniors will meet in the auditorium on Wednesday at 3:00 pm to discuss PSEO Classes and a “Virtual Academy” opportunity with NIACC.

All PSEO Books Need to be handed in by Thursday. 

If any one is interested in ordering a state track t-shirt Shelby Heetland will be in the gym lobby on Thursday during the lunch hour and Friday in the morning from 8 to 8:30 with a sign up sheet.  T-shirts need to be paid for when you sign up so bring the money or the t-shirt will not be ordered. T-shirts cost $10 for sizes small to XL and $11 for 2X and 3X.  The sign up sheet will also be at the distric track meet on Thursday with Dawn Heetland. 

Those students who haven’t turned in their pre-registrations sheets will not be able to opt out of 9^th periods until they are turned in.

Reminder: Deadline is NOW to bring in your Senior Photos to Holly Arnevik for the yearbook. You can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org.  You can submit two different poses.

Graduation----It’s getting closer!!!!---Seniors may post graduation party invites on the bulletin board in the front hall if you like.

Attention students 8^th grade through 11^th grade: The high school student council is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year. If you are interested in representing your class by serving as a student council member, please pick up an application in the high school/middle school office, complete it, and return it to the office by Friday, May 13^th. Please read the application carefully, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask a current student council member or Mrs. Recker!

Reminder that the remaining balances for summer cheer camp must be paid in full before we can book our camp. Please turn in your balance due ASAP! If you need to know how much/if you owe, please see Dy.

On May 17th, during 9th hour, an FCCLA will provide North Iowa students with the opportunity to duct tape 3 teachers- Mrs. Recker, Mr. Meyer. Mr. Hemiller, and Mr. Embrock to a wall. FCCLA members will be visiting 9th hour study halls starting today to sell the tape-which will be $1 per yard. You may by as many yards as you want and specify which teacher you want it to be used on. The individual that buys the most tape for each teacher may help with the taping of that person.

FCCLA members are reminded that you need to bring one roll of duct tape to the FCS room before May 17!!

Anyone interested in FOOTBALL or COMPETITION CHEER for next year can pick up a tryout packet from Dy.

A sign-up sheet is available in the high school office for anyone interested in taking Lifeguard Training.  You MUST be 15 years old at the start of the class to participate.  The class will start at 9:00 on Saturday, May 28 with a pre-requisite swim and introduction of materials.  It will resume on Tuesday, May 31^st and run through Saturday, June 4^th.  Class times will run from 9:00-12:00.  The cost is $75.  Please sign up by Wednesday, May 4th so the correct number of books can be ordered.  Anyone interested in Lifeguard RE-CERTIFICATION is also encouraged to sign up in the office.  Contact Kim Ostermann if you have any questions.

WANTED: Track Pictures! Help me fill the bulletin board with your favorite track photos! Email them to Dy or bring them in. Photos will be returned the last day of school 5/25.

There are still four vocal books that have not been turned in from the musical. Please turn in to the business office today!

“$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA).  It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23^rd.  You stay at the dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are available in my office

The Titonka Care Center is having a carnival on May 11th from 5-7pm. Cheerleaders interested in volunteering to face paint should see Dy.
