Reminder: Deadline is NOW to bring in your Senior Photos to Holly Arnevik for the yearbook.  You can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org.  You can submit two different poses.

 

Varsity boys and girls golf practice at Gruis.   Anyone needing a ride  should meet at the west side of school.

 

Jazz Band will rehearse during 9th hour today.

 

Track photos and Memory Mate photos be taken today at 3:30.

 

 

Graduation----It’s getting closer!!!!---Seniors may post graduation party invites on the bulletin board in the front hall if you like. 

 

Zero hour  and 8th period wts. class will switch lifting and agility days this week. We will lift today and do agilities on Thursday.

 

There will be a senior boys/ dads  Grill Out on Friday, May 6 from 11:45-1:00 at Lions Park in Buffalo Center. Bring your own food and drinks to eat.  

The juniors will have a class meeting with the Herff Jones rep on Monday, May 9th at 12:30 in the FCS room.  You will be getting ready for graduation for next year.

 

Attention students 8th grade through 11th grade: The high school student council is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year. If you are interested in representing your class by serving as a student council member, please pick up an application in the high school/middle school office, complete it, and return it to the office by Friday, May 13th. Please read the application carefully, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask a current student council member or Mrs. Recker!

Reminder that the remaining balances for summer cheer camp must be paid in full before we can book our camp. Please turn in your balance due ASAP! If you need to know how much/if you owe, please see Dy.

 

On May 17th, during 9th hour, an FCCLA will provide North Iowa students with  the opportunity to duct tape 3 teachers- Mrs. Recker, Mr. Meyer. Mr. Hemiller, and Mr. Embrock to a wall.  FCCLA members will be visiting 9th hour study halls starting today to sell the tape-which will be $1 per yard. You may by as many yards as you want and specify which teacher you want it to be used on. The individual that buys the most tape for each teacher may help with the taping of that person.

 

FCCLA members are reminded that you need to bring one roll of duct tape to the FCS room before May 17!!

 

Anyone interested in FOOTBALL or COMPETITION CHEER for next year can pick up a tryout packet from Dy.

 

There will be an extension for the Music Booster Scholarship.  You may pick them up from Mr. Huntington this week.  Deadline will be tomorrow at noon.

 

The Athletic Booster Scholarship Applications are available in the guidance office.  The deadline is Wednesday, May 4th by noon.

 

A sign-up sheet is available in the high school office for anyone interested in taking Lifeguard Training.  You MUST be 15 years old at the start of the class to participate.  The class will start at 9:00 on Saturday, May 28 with a pre-requisite swim and introduction of materials.  It will resume on Tuesday, May 31st and run through Saturday, June 4th.  Class times will run from 9:00-12:00.  The cost is $75.  Please sign up by Wednesday, May 4th so the correct number of books can be ordered.  Anyone interested in Lifeguard RE-CERTIFICATION is also encouraged to sign up in the office.  Contact Kim Ostermann if you have any questions.

 

WANTED: Track Pictures! Help me fill the bulletin board with your favorite track photos! Email them to Dy or bring them in. Photos will be returned the last day of school 5/25.

 

There are still four vocal books that have not been turned in from the musical. Please turn in to the business office today!

 

The County Conservation Board is in need of volunteers to help distribute trees at the Winnebago County Fair Grounds on Wednesday, May 4th from 4-6 p.m. for the Releaf Program.   If you help, you will receive hours toward the silver cord  award and also you will receive a free T-Shirt.  Let Mr. Huntington know a.s.a.p. if you can be there.

 

Students that make a college visit to an Iowa Private College during Private College Week, August 1-5, 2011, can receive a free music download.   Go to www.thinkindependently.com for information.    See Mr. Huntington or Holly Arnevik for your music download card.

 “$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA).  It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23rd.  You stay at the dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are available in my office

 

The Titonka Care Center is having a carnival on May 11th from 5-7pm. Cheerleaders interested in volunteering to face paint should see Dy.
