In the IAHSGCA State Golf
Rankings, Eric Krull is ranked 3rd in the state with a 38.49 scoring average and
Haley is ranked 25th with a 51.89 average. Congratulations to both
Eric and Haley for a job well done. Keep
up the good work.
Anyone
who is going to prom that would like to model their dress in the FCCLA Prom
Style show on Wed. May 4th, should get their dress
description turned in or emailed to Mrs. Larsen by this Wednesday. As of Monday, there are only 4 turned
in. If we do not have 20 by Wed., the
show will not be held. Forms are
available in the office of the FCS room.
Sophomores will be taking the
math computation test today during 9th period study hall. Report to the multipurpose room immediately after your 8th
period class. Bring something to write with and something to work
on if you get done early. No calculators are allowed on this test.
Any Sophomores
who miss the computation test and any who have not taken the math exemplar will
need to make those up on Tuesday, April 26 during 9th period in Mr.
De Boer’s room. A list will be provided to study hall teachers and will
be in the announcements Tuesday morning.
Mr. De Boer’s 9th
period study hall (except the sophomores) should report to Ms. Storby’s room today.
FFA meeting tonight at 7:00pm
in the high school media center, officer elections will be held.
FSQA
testing Tuesday at 7:45 am in Mr. Meyer’s room.
Items were taken off the top
of the HS lockers and can be found on a table in the hallway across from the HS
office. Please come grab items that belong to you. Thanks.
Please try to keep the tops of the lockers clear of bags and other items.
It is OK to store bags there during the school day but not after school.

Juniors and
Seniors and any underclassmen that are attending prom please stop in the high
school media center today, Monday, April 25th to double check spellings for
your names and your parent's names for the Grand March. The program will
be put together on Tuesday and I would like to spell things properly.
Reminder to any
juniors that would like to help decorate for prom we will be in the auditorium
this afternoon, Monday, April 25th from 3:45pm - 7:00pm.
Prom t-shirts may
be picked up in the high school media center this week by Thursday. Just
ask an adult for help. Thanks!
Seniors, please
bring a baby photo and a senior picture to the office for the graduation
slideshow by Monday, May 2nd.
The Varsity and JV boys and
girls golf team is excused at 2:40 for their golf meet at Armstrong. Board the bus at the east side of the school,
leaving at 2:50.
Senior Student Council
members will meet in the FCS room for a working lunch on Thursday, April
28. Grab your lunch and meet in the FCS by 12:20 pm.
Just a
reminder if you have any fines or fees due – it must be paid before the end of
the year check out. I
currently have cheerleading fines and an FFA item that needs taking care
of. Also, if registration fees were not paid at the beginning of the
year, those will need to be paid also before I can sign your check out
form. Please stop by the business office if you are wondering if you owe

Track Pictures! Help me fill the bulletin board with your favorite track
photos! Email them to Dy or bring them in. Photos
will be returned the last day of school 5/25.
There are still four vocal
books that have not been turned in from the musical. Please turn in to the
business office today!
All Freshmen,
Sophomores, and Juniors need to turn in their signed pre-registration sheets to
the HS office by Tuesday, April 26. The pre-registration sheets need to
be signed by a parent/guardian. The online pre-registration link is open
on the North Iowa High School webpage. The 2011-12 Course Description
book can also be found on this webpage. If you missed your class’s
pre-registration meeting, please see Mr. Embrock or Mr. Huntington to get you
started.
Blood
donations from volunteer blood donors have a major impact on the lives of
hospital patients in your community. You
can make a difference by making a life-saving blood donation at the next North
Iowa High School Blood Drive. The blood
drive will take place on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 1:45 -6:30 pm. Please contact Tony Wubben or Mrs. Aukes for
appointment details.
GIVE BLOOD! This is a great community
service. We are competing with other schools to win a $1,000 scholarship
for one of our seniors. In order to win the scholarship, we need to schedule
LOTS of appointments. Contact Tony Wubben,
Sarah Anderson or Mrs. Aukes to schedule an appointment.
The County Conservation Board
is in need of volunteers to help distribute trees at the Winnebago County Fair Grounds
on Wednesday, May 4th from 4-6 p.m. for
the Releaf Program. If you help,
you will receive hours toward the silver cord award
and also you will receive a free T-Shirt. Let Mr. Huntington know
a.s.a.p. if you can be there.
Seniors—If
you did not pick up your cap and gown, you may pay $10 to the business office
and pick them up this week.
Students are reminded with
warmer weather (soon to be) here to please dress appropriately. If you
have any questions, please refer to the student handbook for appropriate dress
code.
Silver Cord Hours need to be
turned in no later than Monday, May 2nd.
Students that make a college
visit to an Iowa Private College during Private College Week, August 1-5, 2011,
can receive a free music download. Go to www.thinkindependently.com for
information. See Mr. Huntington or Holly Arnevik for your
music download card.
Attention Seniors—If you still need to order graduation announcements,
it’s not too late. Herff Jones has a
limited supply available on a first come, first served basis. Please call 1-800-914-3733 for
assistance.
Reminder:
Please bring in your Senior Photos for the yearbook as soon as you can, or you
can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org. You can submit two different
poses.
Scholarship opportunity—Two $100 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors
who have been active in theater productions during their high school
years. You may pick up an application from Mrs. Hippen in the high school
media center. Applications are due May 2nd.
“$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free
four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA). It
is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23rd. You stay at the
dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon
as possible which are available in my office
