Please dismiss the girls track team today at 3:00 for their meet in Estherville.  Thank you.

Competition Cheer Practice Friday at 11am on the stage. Anyone interested should attend to start stunt progressions. An athletic physical must be on file with the school before you can participate. See Dy with questions.

There will be golf practice at Gruis today. Anyone needing a ride, meet at the west side of the school.

The following students today will be pulled out of classes for ITED testing sometime this morning: Haley Williams, Ryan Almelien, Nick Kahler, Alec Ostrander, Justin Murray, Maria Mayland, Mikayla Litzkow.

Just a reminder if you have any fines or fees due – it must be paid before the end of the year check out.  I currently have cheerleading fines and an FFA item that needs taking care of.  Also, if registration fees were not paid at the beginning of the year, those will need to be paid also before I can sign your check out form.  Please stop by the business office if you are wondering if you owe anything so far. ~ Mrs. Davids

WANTED: Track Pictures! Help me fill the bulletin board with your favorite track photos! Email them to Dy or bring them in. Photos will be returned the last day of school 5/25.

Mr. Meyer needs 6-8 FFA members to help at the pancake day in Buffalo Center this Saturday April 23^rd. Please see him ASAP if you are willing to help out.

FFA meeting Monday night April 25^th 7:00pm in the high school media center.  Officer elections, everyone should be present. Questions see Mr. Meyer.

A junior class meeting will be held today at 12:30 pm in the auditorium.  Please make plans to attend.

Sophomore students who have been asked to wait tables for prom will have a working lunch meeting today in the ICN room.

There are still four vocal books that have not been turned in from the musical. Please turn in to the business office today or Monday!

Sophomores will be taking the math computation test on Monday, April 25 during 9^th period study hall.  Report to the multipurpose room immediately after your 8^th period class.  Bring something to write with and something to work on if you get done early.  No calculators are allowed on this test.

Any Sophomores who misses the computation test on Monday and any who have not taken the math exemplar will need to make those up on Tuesday, April 26 during 9^th period in Mr. De Boer’s room.  A list will be provided to study hall teachers and will be in the announcements Tuesday morning.

All Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors need to turn in their signed pre-registration sheets to the HS office by Tuesday, April 26.  The pre-registration sheets need to be signed by a parent/guardian.  The online pre-registration link is open on the North Iowa High School webpage.  The 2011-12 Course Description book can also be found on this webpage.  If you missed your class’s pre-registration meeting, please see Mr. Embrock or Mr. Huntington to get you started.

Congratulations to the following seniors who were selected as graduation speakers to represent the class of 2011: Logan Hovland, Megan Julsrud-Wertjes, Tanner Weringa.

Blood donations from volunteer blood donors have a major impact on the lives of hospital patients in your community. You can make a difference by making a life-saving blood donation at the next North Iowa High School Blood Drive. The blood drive will take place on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 1:45 -6:30 pm. Please contact Tony Wubben or Mrs. Aukes for appointment details.

GIVE BLOOD! This is a great community service.  We are competing with other schools to win a $1,000 scholarship for one of our seniors. In order to win the scholarship, we need to schedule LOTS of  appointments.  Contact Tony Wubben, Sarah Anderson or Mrs. Aukes to schedule an appointment.

There will be an FSQA testing session on Tuesday April 26^th at 7:45am in Mr. Meyer’s room for any 4-H or FFA member that needs to take the test.

The County Conservation Board is in need of volunteers to help distribute trees at the Winnebago County Fair Grounds on Wednesday, May 4^th from 4-6 p.m. for the Releaf Program.   If you help, you will receive hours toward the silver cord  award and also you will receive a free T-Shirt.  Let Mr. Huntington know a.s.a.p. if you can be there.

Seniors—If you did not pick up your cap and gown, you may pay $10 to the business office and pick them up this week.

Students are reminded with warmer weather (soon to be) here to please dress appropriately.  If you have any questions, please refer to the student handbook for appropriate dress code.

Silver Cord Hours need to be turned in no later than Monday, May 2^nd.

Students that make a college visit to an Iowa Private College during Private College Week, August 1-5, 2011, can receive a free music download.   Go to www.thinkindependently.com for information.    See Mr. Huntington or Holly Arnevik for your music download card.

Reminder:  Please bring in your Senior Photos for the yearbook as soon as you can, or you can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org.  You can submit two different poses.

FCCLA is sponsoring a Prom Style Show on Wed. May 4th at 7 p.m. Everyone who would like to model in the show should pick up a description form from the office or the FCS room, and return it to Mrs. Larsen or e-mail it to her at larsen@northiowa.org. Deadline is April 27th.

Scholarship opportunity—Two $100 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who have been active in theater productions during their high school years.  You may pick up an application from Mrs. Hippen in the high school media center.  Applications are due May 2^nd.

“$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA).  It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23^rd.  You stay at the dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are available in my office

Happy birthday today, April 21^st, to Derek Jensen. Sunday, April 24^th, three students will be celebrating birthdays, Jason Porter, John Menagh, and Tanner Stenerson. Hope everyone has a great birthday!!!!
