Boys
track subway orders are due by 11am today!!
Please note change in time. Orders are being dropped off at 11:30.
Please dismiss the girls
track team today at 2:05 for their meet in Armstrong.
Please dismiss the boys track
team today at 3:00 for their meet in Estherville.
The varsity boys and girls
golf team will be excused at 2:30. The
bus from the east side of the school.
Committee
meeting for the blood drive will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, at
3:01 pm in Mrs. Aukes office. Please bring your appointment schedule and
folder.
Sign
up to give blood at NIHS Blood Drive on Thursday, April 28 from 1:45 pm to 6:30
pm. This is a great community service. We are competing with other
schools to win a $1,000 scholarship for one of our seniors. In order to win the
scholarship, we need to schedule LOTS of appointments. Contact Tony
Wubben, Sarah Anderson or Mrs. Aukes to schedule an appointment.
There will be a
Jr. Class meeting at 12:30 on Tuesday, April 19th, in the
auditorium. All class members are expected to attend.
Blake Huntington, Anna Skarpohl-Ost, Jason Porter, Haley Williams, and Taylor
Thomsen report to the guidance office after announcements today.
Ryan Almelien,
Valerie Faugstad, Austen Bechler, and Maria Mayland
report to the guidance office at the beginning of 4th hour.
The ASSET assessment will be
given at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20th in the Multi-purpose
room. Students who plan to take PSEO classes through Iowa
Lakes next fall need to have an acceptable score on this assessment and must
also be proficient on all core areas of the ITED testing in order to be
eligible to take college courses.
If you currently are taking
PSEO courses, then you already have taken the ASSET test and there is no need
to retake it. If you have taken the ASSET in the past and did not
score well, then this would be a good chance to retake it in order to have an
acceptable score. Also, If you are a Senior who is planning to go to
community college and have not taken an admissions assessment then you are
welcome to participate. PLEASE Sign up in the guidance office by
Tuesday noon for this opportunity.
Seniors—If you did not pick
up your cap and gown, you may pay $10 to the business office and pick them up
this week.
Students are reminded with
warmer weather (soon to be) here to please dress appropriately. If you
have any questions, please refer to the student handbook for appropriate dress
code.
Silver Cord Hours need to be
turned in no later than Monday, May 2nd.
Students that make a college visit
to an Iowa Private College during Private College Week, August 1-5, 2011, can
receive a free music download. Go to www.thinkindependently.com for
information. See Mr. Huntington or Holly Arnevik for your
music download card.
Last
day to sign up for after prom is Wednesday 4/20. Doors will open at 11 pm and
will be locked starting at midnight. Breakfast will be served starting at 4am
with the big prizes being drawn for during breakfast.
Juniors and seniors who are
attending prom may sign up for Grand March and tables for the meal in the high
school media center now through next Wednesday, April 20th.

late. Herff Jones has a limited supply
available on a first come, first served basis.

Please bring in your Senior Photos for the yearbook as soon as you can, or you
can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org. You can submit two different
poses.
FCCLA
is sponsoring a Prom Style Show on Wed. May 4th at 7 p.m. Everyone who would like to model in the show
should pick up a description form from the office or the FCS room, and return
it to Mrs. Larsen or e-mail it to her at larsen@northiowa.org. Deadline is April 27th.
Scholarship opportunity—Two
$100 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who have been active in
theater productions during their high school years. You may pick up an
application from Mrs. Hippen in the high school media center.
Applications are due May 2nd.
“$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free
four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA). It is from Sunday, June 19
– Thursday, June 23rd. You stay at the dorms during the week
and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are
available in my office
