Congratulations to the boys and girls golf teams for there win over Northwood-Kensett.  The boys had a score of 191 to 192.  The medalist for the boys was Eric Krull with a 40 and Scott Evans a 43.

 

The girls won their meet against Northwood-Kensett with a score of 234 to 240 the Girls Medalist was Haley Engelbarts with a personal best of 47.

 

Students that make a college visit to an Iowa Private College during Private College Week, August 1-5, 2011,  can receive a free music download.   Go to www.thinkindependently.com for information.    See Mr. Huntington or Holly Arnevik for your music download card. 

 

There will be golf practice at Gruis today.  Anyone needing a ride, meet on the east side of the school.

 

If there are any FCCLA members who would like to earn some silver cord hours by providing Child Care during Kindergarten Round up, please tell Mrs. Larsen.  The roundup is being held tonightat 6:30 pm.

 

No 9th hr. opt out today due to the shortened schedule.

 

Reminder--Boys track: Subway orders for the Lake Mills meet (Thursday 4/14) are due by THURSDAY 4/14 at NOON next.

 

Reminder--BOTH GIRLS AND BOYS TRACK subway orders for APRIL 15th.  The orders need to in by FRIDAY (4/15) at NOON! )

 

The Merlyn R. Elman Memorial Scholarship Deadline is this Friday.

 

Silver Cord Hours need to be turned in no later than Monday, May 2nd.

 

Juniors and seniors who are attending prom may sign up for Grand March and tables for the meal in the high school media center now through next Wednesday, April 20th.  Remember to get signed up for After Prom as well. 

 

Teachers and adults invited to prom are reminded to sign up and pay for your meal in the business office by this Friday, April 15th.  Hope to see you all there. If anyone has any questions please ask Mrs. Anderson.

 

Congratulations to the following students who received Division I ratings at the State Music solo/ensemble festival this past Saturday:  Troy Kettwick-vocal solo, Troy Kettwick & Rachel Rolling-vocal duet, Bailey Hughes-vocal solo,  Daniel Miller-trombone solo, Brandi Swenson-Saxophone solo, and the Girl’s Vocal Ensemble consisting of Rachel Rolling, Jessica Wubben, Bailey Hughes, Katie Jordal, Jessica Bruhns, Becca Davis, Brandi Swenson, Jenna Schutter, and Morgan Kahler.

Seniors--caps and gowns will be distributed Friday, April 15th.  You will need to pay $10 to the business office and then you may pick your cap and gown.

 

Attention Seniors—If you still need to order graduation announcements, it’s not too late.  Herff Jones has a limited supply available on a first come, first served basis.  Please call 1-800-914-3733 for assistance. 

 

Reminder:  Please bring in your Senior Photos for the yearbook as soon as you can, or you can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org.  You can submit two different poses.

 

FCCLA is sponsoring a Prom Style Show on Wed. May 4th at 7 p.m.   Everyone who would like to model in the show should pick up a description form from the office or the FCS room, and return it to Mrs. Larsen or e-mail it to her at larsen@northiowa.org.  Deadline is April 27th.

 

Scholarship opportunity—Two $100 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who have been active in theater productions during their high school years.  You may pick up an application from Mrs. Hippen in the high school media center.  Applications are due May 2nd.

 

 “$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA).  It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23rd.  You stay at the dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are available in my office
