Congratulations to the following students who received Division I ratings at the State Music solo/ensemble festival this past Saturday:  Troy Kettwick-vocal solo, Troy Kettwick & Rachel Rolling-vocal duet, Bailey Hughes-vocal solo,  Daniel Miller-trombone solo, Brandi Swenson-Saxophone solo, and the Girl’s Vocal Ensemble consisting of Rachel Rolling, Jessica Wubben, Bailey Hughes, Katie Jordal, Jessica Bruhns, Becca Davis, Brandi Swenson, Jenna Schutter, and Morgan Kahler.

 

Please excuse high school students for their golf meet at 3:10 today.  Anyone needing a ride to the golf meet go to the west side of school at 3:10.

 

Yearbook workshops will be held today at 3:00 and Tuesday at 3:00 in the elementary media center.

 

The working lunch Student Council meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 12th during lunch. Again, a picture will be taken for Student Leadership week. Thank you! ~Mrs. Recker

 

FCCLA will meet tonight at 7 p.m.

 

Seniors need to report to the multipurpose room at 8:50 on Tuesday.  Iowa College Planning Center is doing two presentations that will be of value to you.  Please bring a calculator and something to write with.

 

High School students will be taking ITEDs starting tomorrow, April 12th at 8:25 through 10:25.  ITEDs will continue Wednesday and Thursday. 

9th graders will test in Mrs. DeBoer’s and Mr. Potter’s rooms—supervising teachers are Mrs. DeBoer, Mr. Potter, Mrs. Storby and Mrs. Larson.

Seniors--caps and gowns will be distributed Friday, April 15th.  You will need to pay $10 to the business office and then you may pick your cap and gown.

Reminder:  Please bring in your Senior Photos for the yearbook as soon as you can, or you can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org.  You can submit two different poses.

 

FCCLA is sponsoring a Prom Style Show on Wed. May 4th at 7 p.m.   Everyone who would like to model in the show should pick up a description form from the office or the FCS room, and return it to Mrs. Larsen or e-mail it to her at larsen@northiowa.org.  Deadline is April 27th.

 

If there are any FCCLA members who would like to earn some silver cord hours by providing Child Care during Kindergarten Round up, please tell Mrs. Larsen.  The roundup is being held on Wednesday, April 13th at 6:30 pm.

 

ATTENTION TRACK PARTICIPANTS: because not many Subway's accept checks as payment any more please be sure to pay in cash. Prices with tax included are listed in both locker rooms and in the media center. Sorry for any inconvenience.

 

Reminder--Boys track: Subway orders for the Lake Mills meet (Thursday 4/14) are due by THURSDAY 4/14 at NOON next.

 

Reminder--BOTH GIRLS AND BOYS TRACK subway orders for APRIL 15th.  The orders need to in by FRIDAY (4/15) at NOON! )

 

Attention Seniors: The Publications Class is wrapping up our final publication of the Senior Spotlights. If you have not been contacted by a student or Mrs. Recker to complete your Senior Spotlight, please email Mrs. Recker ASAP so that we do not miss creating one for you? Scholarship opportunity—Two $100 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who have been active in theater productions during their high school years.  You may pick up an application from Mrs. Hippen in the high school media center.  Applications are due May 2nd.

 

The North Iowa After Prom committee would like to invite all Juniors, Seniors and their dates the After Prom Party. There is NO COST to attend and you do not need to go to prom in order to go to the After Prom. Please sign up for After Prom in the office. The rules regarding dates are the same for After Prom as they are for Prom. YOU MUST ALSO INCLUDE A VALID PHONE NUMBER FOR YOUR PARENTS WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR AFTER PROM. The numbers will be verified!

 

Seniors - A reminder to pay attention to scholarship deadlines and details.  Applications for 7 scholarships have been emails to everyone.  Most have April 8th deadlines but the Merlyn Elman Memorial Scholarship which is April 15.

 

“$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA).  It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23rd.  You stay at the dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are available in my office.
