General

The HS Student Council will be sponsoring “I Hate Winter Day” on Friday, April 11.  Periods 1 and 2 will be held at their normal scheduled time on this day (‘A’ day).  Students will have the option of 6 different activities for the afternoon.  They include:  going to the YMCA (cost includes $4 for entrance) to swim, play racquetball, dodge ball, etc.; going Bowling at BC Lanes; going golfing at Gruis Recreation Center; playing board games, chess, and/or cards in the HS Media Center, watching movies in the HS Auditorium (movies yet to be decided), or playing Guitar Hero and Wii games in the Multi-purpose room.  All students need to be signed up with Mr. Embrock by Friday, April 4.  We will have an “I Hate Winter Day” meeting during Seminars on Wednesday, April 9 in the HS Auditorium to explain how the afternoon of April 11 will go.

 

Baseball players need to turn in Butter Braid orders to Rena no later than Friday as that is the day the order will be called in. Thanks!

 

National Honor Society and Spanish 3:  Time to signup outside Mr. Potter's room for the annual outing on  May 3 to the Festival of Nations at RiverCentre along Kellogg Boulevard in St. Paul.

 

The FFA Banquet committee needs to meet today during 1st seminar in Mr. Gerzema's room.

 

We have a lot of FFA members that have not turned in Local Proficiency award applications. They take about 5 minutes to do and their is a category for every person. These are due today!!!

 

The following FFA members have earned a trip to the State FFA Convention April 13-15, pick up a letter about details from Mr. GerzemaSigne, Ross, Jon, Remi, Grady, Holden, Kristine, Ben, Stetson, Becca, Lauren, Tony, and Jacob.

 

Any FFA member wishing to show livestock at the Iowa State Fair needs to contact Mr. Gerzema by Friday. He needs to order the tags no later than Monday April 7th.

 

There will be a yearbook meeting first seminar in the auditorium today. 

 

Any senior in band or chorus that is interested in applying for the Music Booster Scholarship, see Mr. Cook or Mrs. Kettwick for an application.  Applications are due by April 14 to Lori Griffin.

 

Female and male senior athletes:  Application forms for NI Athletic Booster Club scholarships are now available in the guidance office.  Read the eligibility criteria carefully and then if you qualify, complete the application form and return to Mr. Huntington by April 25th.

 

Seniors and juniors~

Sign up today in the high school media center for Prom t-shirts, glasses, and photo cubes.  Samples are available to view by the sign up sheets.  Sign up ends today.  If you do not sign up, items will NOT be ordered for you.  Any questions, contact Mrs. Anderson.

 

Attention H.S. students--All students need to make sure you are at your respective lunch and seminar times each day.

 

Duffle Bags have arrived! The Youth Football parents will be handing out the bags in the Buffalo Center lobby on Friday, April 4, from 3:00-4:00.

 

There will be a Football meeting on Friday at 12:10 in the Multi Purpose Room for everyone interested in playing football next season.  Any Questions ask Coach Eichenberger.)

 

There will be a bowling pizza party on Wednesday, April 9th for all bowling participants and their parents from this past bowling season. This will be held in the school commons. Please sign up in the office along with the number that will be attending the party. 

 

Senior girls, their mothers, grandmothers, or a special adult friend (female) are cordially invited to the Literary Circle Tea to be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 1:30 p.m.(early dismissal day).  You must be signed up by April 8th.

 

All girls going to prom should stop and get a dress description sheet

from Mrs. Friesenborg for the prom style show.   The show will be held the Tuesday after prom.  (April 29, at 7:00)

 

The writing and technology class hopes that you enjoyed our April fool’s “High Time” paper.  The real edition will be posted tomorrow.

 

The driving range is open so there will be golf practice today for all golf team members.
