Congratulations to JT Roe for being elected Vice President of Public Relations at the state FCCLA convention.  He also received a Gold award for his illustrated talk.

 

Reminder:  Please bring in your Senior Photos for the yearbook as soon as you can, or you can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org.  You can submit two different poses.

Attention High School students—During lunch hour you are not to wander between the commons, lobby and the media center. You are to stay in one of those places until the bell sounds to be excused.  THANKS!!

Today is NOT an Opt-Out day for high school students.  Students will be dismissed at regular time-3:30.

College rep from Simpson College at Indianola will be here at 11:45 today.

There will be boys and girls golf practice at Gruis today after school. Anyone needing a ride meet on the west side of the school.

 

Student Council Members: There will be a working lunch meeting today in Mrs. Recker’s room. Please excuse yourselves from 5th hour at 12:05 to get your lunch and meet in Mrs. Recker’s room at 12:10. Thank you!

 

No Open Gym this Saturday, April 2nd.

 

The year end bowling banquet and awards night will be at Buffalo Lanes on Saturday, April 2nd.  We will start at 4:00 pm with awards and achievements for the year.  Invite your family, friends and maybe a new bowler for the team next year.  After the meeting you are free to bowl, have supper (at your expense) or just hang out with your friends.  Let’s have a good turn out and support Buffalo Lanes for all they do during the school year.

Ladies! High School All Female Teams are needed for the Dodgeball Tourney on Saturday. Sign up today at the $65 price. See DY ASAP!

 

Calling all High School Males! We need more high school teams for Saturday's tournament! Sign up today and get registered for $65! 

 

Juniors – Help is needed to run the dodge ball tournament on April 2.  There will be 3 shifts of workers needed on that day and we will need at least 4-5 workers each shift.  The sign up sheet will be passed around on Thursday during American History Class and available in the media center after that.

 

There will be boys golf practice today after school. Anyone needing a ride should meet at the west side of the school.  No girls golf practice.

 

TRACK BOYS: Subway orders for Friday's track meet in Forest City are due TODAY BY 3:30 pm since there is no school Thursday or Friday.

 

Juniors and seniors need to sign up and pay for your ticket to prom by tomorrow, March 30th in the business office.  Please make sure your date gets signed up and paid for as well.  If you have any questions please ask Mrs. Anderson or Mrs. Davids.

 

If any FFA member would like to order a windbreaker please see Mr. Meyer to get an order blank.  Orders will be due next Wed April 6th.

The North Iowa After Prom committee would like to invite all Juniors, Seniors and their dates the After Prom Party. There is NO COST to attend and you do not need to go to prom in order to go to the After Prom. Please sign up for After Prom in the office. The rules regarding dates are the same for After Prom as they are for Prom. YOU MUST ALSO INCLUDE A VALID PHONE NUMBER FOR YOUR PARENTS WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR AFTER PROM. The numbers will be verified!

 

Seniors - A reminder to pay attention to scholarship deadlines and details.  Applications for 7 scholarships have been emails to everyone.  Most have April 8th deadlines, with the exception of the Seneca Foods Scholarship which is March 30th and the Merlyn Elman Memorial Scholarship which is April 15.

 

If you are reading the book "4 Days to Glory" by Mark Kreidler, please stop in the high school media center ASAP. Thank you! 

 

Shakespeare projects are on display in the high school on the 2nd floor hallway.  Come see what nice work the English 9 students have done!!!

 

“$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA).  It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23rd.  You stay at the dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are available in my office

 

Senior girls Literary Circle Tea will be held on Wednesday afternoon, April 27th at the Methodist Church in Buffalo Center.  All senior girls and their mothers, grandmothers or close relative are cordially invited to attend.  Please sign up sheet in the office, to let the ladies know how many to plan for.  Thanks!
