March Students of the Month need to report to the office for a picture at 12:05 pm.  Also, check your email for a questionnaire to complete before the end of the day today.

Congratulations on displaying Fairness and representing North Iowa in a positive way!

 

There will be no open gym with Coach Quail Saturday morning.

 

Reminder on the criteria for opting out of 9th period study hall/homeroom:  all homework completed for all teachers, all detention time made up, few disciplinary infractions, and positive attendance.  Any student who has been absent from any 2nd semester class period 6 or more times is ineligible to opt out.  Please talk to your 9th period advisers or Mr. Embrock if you have any questions in regards to the 9th period opt out policy

 

Due to the short school week next week, there will not be any 9th period opt out days.

 

Sophomores will be taking the math exemplar on Monday, March 28 during 9th period study hall.  Report to the multipurpose room and bring work to do after you finish the exemplar.  Calculators are allowed if you have one, but are not necessary for this test.

 

Reminder:  Please bring in your Senior Photos for the yearbook as soon as you can, or you can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org.  You can submit two different poses.

 

Juniors and seniors please check your email for an important message about prom. 

 

Boys and girls golf team report to the gym at 3:35 for your pictures . There will be boys golf practice today but but no girls golf practice.

 

The North Iowa After Prom committee would like to invite all Juniors, Seniors and their dates the After Prom Party. There is NO COST to attend and you do not need to go to prom in order to go to the After Prom. Please sign up for After Prom in the office. The rules regarding dates are the same for After Prom as they are for Prom. YOU MUST ALSO INCLUDE A VALID PHONE NUMBER FOR YOUR PARENTS WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR AFTER PROM. The numbers will be verfified!

 

The Hunter Education Class will begin this Saturday, March 26th and will also be held on Saturday, April 9th.   Students must attend both sessions.  The hunter safety class will be held in the multi-purpose room on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and running until 3 p.m.   Enter by the east door by Mr. Myer’s office.   Lunch will be provided by the Winnebago-Hancock County Pheasants Forever Chapter.  Please bring a pencil or pen to the class.

If you have not registered and want to take this course, you must register online on the Iowa DNR website for the class.  Students must be 11 years old to attend. See Mr. Huntington if you would like to participate.  There is no cost for the class. 

 

The North Iowa Dodgeball Tournament is April 2nd! Turn your registrations, cost is $75.

 

The boys and girls golf team pictures will be taken today in the gym after school.  Be there at 3:35.

 

Seniors - A reminder to pay attention to scholarship deadlines and details.  Applications for 7 scholarships have been emails to everyone.  Most have April 8th deadlines, with the exception of the Seneca Foods Scholarship which is March 30th and the Merlyn Elman Memorial Scholarship which is April 15.

 

Juniors – Help is needed to run the dodge ball tournament on April 2.  There will be 3 shifts of workers needed on that day and we will need at least 4-5 workers each shift.  The sign up sheet will be passed around on Thursday during American History Class and available in the media center after that.

 

If you are reading the book "4 Days to Glory" by Mark Kreidler, please stop in the high school media center ASAP. Thank you! 

 

Shakespeare projects are on display in the high school on the 2nd floor hallway.  Come see what nice work the English 9 students have done!!!

 

“$500 Scholarship for NIACC by attending the free four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA).  It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23rd.  You stay at the dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are available in my office

 

Senior girls Literary Circle Tea will be held on Wednesday afternoon, April 27th at the Methodist Church in Buffalo Center.  All senior girls and their mothers, grandmothers or close relative are cordially invited to attend.  Please sign up sheet in the office, to let the ladies know how many to plan for.  Thanks!
