to the State Speech contestants. 6 of
the 11 entries were rated I. A special
thanks to Mr. Wubben for driving the bus and to the
parents and students who rode along to show support-- you are appreciated.
We will be picking up the
Pennies for Patients contributions this morning. I should have totals by
Wednesday.
The Lake Mills
Task Force Against Substance Abuse” will be holding “Social Networking: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly” presentation
tomorrow evening at the Lake Mills
Community School foyer at 6:30 p.m. Brian Blodgett of NGT will be presenting.
Reminder: Please bring
in your Senior Photos for the yearbook as soon as you can, or you can also
email them to arnevik@northiowa.org. You can submit two different poses.
FFA Officers will have a
working lunch on Tuesday in Mr. Meyer’s room.
FFA members who participated
in sub-district contests please bring your FFA jackets tomorrow for a picture
during 9th hour in Mr. Meyer’s room.
Girls golf practice will
start today. Golf clubs, fees and
permission slips are needed today.
Anyone needing a ride meet on the east side of the school at 3:30.
If you plan to participate in
high school football next year, please stop by Coach Anderson’s room and fill
out an informational sheet by Wednesday.
Reminder: English 10 students
will report directly to the Multi-Purpose Room today for class.
Shakespeare
projects are on display in the high school on the 2nd floor
hallway. Come see what nice work the
English 9 students have done!!!

There is a Hunter Education
Class being offered on Saturdays, March 26th and April 9th.
Students must attend both session. The class will be held at North Iowa
High School (Note Site Change) on those
days. Students must register online on the Iowa DNR website for the
class. Students must be 11 years old to attend. See Mr. Huntington if you
would like to participate. There is no cost for the class. Space is
limited to the first 24 students registered.
FCCLA
will meet on Wednesday, March 16th, during 9th hour in the FCS room.
“$500 Scholarship for NIACC
by attending the free four day Youth Entrepreneurial Academy
(YEA). It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday, June 23rd.
You stay at the dorms during the week and all expenses are paid. Complete
applications as soon as possible which are available in my office.”
All
freshmen will be going to the Prime for Life presentation this week today from
12:45 to 3:30; Tuesday from 12:45 to 3:30; Wednesday from 8:25 to 12:10. Students report to the multipurpose room for
this presentation.
Lost &
Found – If you have recently lost a
bracelet or set of keys near the gym/lobby area, please stop by the MS/HS
office.
Senior girls Literary Circle
Tea will be held on Wednesday afternoon, April 27th at the Methodist
Church in Buffalo Center. All senior
girls and their mothers, grandmothers or close relative are cordially invited
to attend. Please sign up sheet in the
office, to let the ladies know how many to plan for. Thanks!
Reminder: There
are still some students who have not turned in the student 9th
period opt out form. This form needs to
be completed, signed by your parent, turned into the HS office if you wish to
opt out of 9th hr. on Wednesdays and Fridays. You can receive
this form from your 9th period teacher/advisor or the HS office.
Also a reminder in regards to
9th period on Wednesdays and Fridays: Any student with poor
attendance, multiple tardies, unfulfilled detentions,
and serious disciplinary violations will not be able to opt out of 9th
period study hall those days. If you
have any questions, please talk to your teachers.
