Lunch
today is: Bean/cheese burritos, peas,
sandwich, orange wedge.
Reminder: Please bring in your Senior Photos for the
yearbook as soon as you can, or you can also email them to arnevik@northiowa.org. You can
submit two different poses.
Attention students:
There will be an “open gym” session ran by Coach Quail again tomorrow,
March 12th starting at 7:00 a.m. for any boy or girl in grades 6
through 12 interested in developing quickness and flexibility, endurance
stretching, speech hurdles, and jump roping.
There is no cost for this session.
The boys golf sign up will be
today in the ICN room at 3:30. Anyone interested in signing up for golf please
attend.
Girls golf practice will start on Monday, March 14th. Bring your golf clubs, fees and permission
slips. Anyone needing a ride meet on the east side of the school at 3:30.
Please turn in your Pennies
for Patients money today in your 9th hr. homeroom. Thanks!
There will be a meeting for
National Honor Society members in Mr. Potter’s room during 9th hour today.
Please be prompt.
The state individual event speech contest
tomorrow in Starmont. The bus will leave the school at 6:00 AM
and will pick up at the Thompson school at 6:10. You will be returning at approximately 7:00 PM. Any students who participated in large or
individual speech events are welcome to attend.
Those students wanting to go along, are to sign
up before noon today with Mrs. Mayland to ride the bus.
There is a Hunter Education
Class being offered on Saturdays, March 26th and April 9th.
Students must attend both session. The class
will be held at North Iowa High School (Note Site
Change) on those days. Students must register online on the
Iowa DNR website for the class. Students must be 11 years old to attend.
See Mr. Huntington if you would like to participate. There is no cost for
the class. Space is limited to the first 24 students registered.
FCCLA
will meet on Wednesday, March 16th, during 9th hour in the FCS room.
“$500 Scholarship for NIACC
by attending the free four day Youth
Entrepreneurial Academy (YEA). It is from Sunday, June 19 – Thursday,
June 23rd. You stay at the dorms during the week and all
expenses are paid. Complete applications as soon as possible which are
available in my office.”
All
freshmen will be going to the Prime for Life presentation next week Monday from
12:45 to 3:30; Tuesday from 12:45 to 3:30; Wednesday from 8:25 to 12:10. Students report to the multipurpose room for
this presentation.
Lost &
Found – If you have recently lost a
bracelet or set of keys near the gym/lobby area, please stop by the MS/HS
office.
Senior girls Literary Circle
Tea will be held on Wednesday afternoon, April 27th at the Methodist
Church in Buffalo Center. All senior
girls and their mothers, grandmothers or close relative are cordially invited
to attend. Please sign up sheet in the
office, to let the ladies know how many to plan for. Thanks!
Reminder: There
are still some students who have not turned in the student 9th
period opt out form. This form needs to
be completed, signed by your parent, turned into the
HS office if you wish to opt out of 9th hr. on Wednesdays and
Fridays. You can receive this form from your 9th period
teacher/advisor or the HS office.
Also a reminder in regards to
9th period on Wednesdays and Fridays: Any student with poor
attendance, multiple tardies, unfulfilled detentions,
and serious disciplinary violations will not be able to opt out of 9th
period study hall those days. If you
have any questions, please talk to your teachers.
