Jessica A, Katelin F, Morgan K, Kelsey G--- Bronze, Tony W and Logan H---Academic Achievement Award.
FFA Officers will have a
working lunch today in Mr. Meyer’s room.
ALL FFA proficiency award
applications must be turned in by this Thursday March 10. Questions see
Mr. Meyer.
The
state individual event speech contest is Saturday in Starmont. The bus will leave the school at 6:00 AM
on Saturday and will pick up at the Thompson school at 6:10. You will be returning at approximately 7:00
PM that evening. Any students who
participated in large or individual speech events are welcome to attend. Those students wanting to go along, are to
sign up with Mrs. Mayland to ride the bus before noon on Friday.
The Rep from Northwestern
College at Orange City will be in the guidance office at 11:45 a.m.
FFA officers will have a

FFA Proficiency award
applications are due Thursday March 10th to Mr. Meyer.
The
Ministerial Association will be having a meeting with the seniors 9th
hour this Thursday, March 10th.
It will be held in the auditorium and you will be discussing
Baccalaureate. All seniors must attend.
Lost &
Found – If you have recently lost a bracelet
or set of keys near the gym/lobby area, please stop by the MS/HS office.
This week is the final
week for the Pennies for Patients fund drive. Let’s try and raise our goal of $4000 by Friday. If every
student would average an $8 contribution to the effort we will easily surpass
the $4000 mark. Middle School and High School groups should maybe
consider challenging another class to see who can raise the most funds.
Senior girls Literary Circle
Tea will be held on Wednesday, April 27th at the Methodist Church in
Buffalo Center. All senior girls and
their mothers, grandmothers or close relative are cordially invited to
attend. Please sign up sheet in the
office, to the ladies know how many to plan for. Thanks!
The boys golf sign up will be
on Friday, March 11 in the ICN room at 3:30. Anyone interested in signing up
for golf please attend.
Cheerleaders
that still have calendars at home need to return them by FRIDAY or you will be
charged full price for the calendars. Make sure you turn them in to Dy personally and do not leave them with someone to turn in
for you! Thanks!
There is a Hunter Education
Class being offered on Saturdays, March 26th and April 9th.
Students must attend both session. The class will be held at the Thompson
school on those days. Students must register online on the Iowa DNR
website for the class. Students must be 11 years old to attend. See Mr.
Huntington if you would like to participate. There is no cost for the class.
Space is limited to the first 24 students registered.
Reminder: There
are still some students who have not turned in the student 9th
period opt out form. This form needs to
be completed, signed by your parent, turned into the HS office if you wish to
opt out of 9th hr. on Wednesdays and Fridays. You can receive
this form from your 9th period teacher/advisor or the HS office.
Also a reminder in regards to
9th period on Wednesdays and Fridays: Any student with poor
attendance, multiple tardies, unfulfilled detentions,
and serious disciplinary violations will not be able to opt out of 9th
period study hall those days. If you
have any questions, please talk to your teachers.
Seniors please bring your
senior photos that you want in the yearbook to the high school office.
You can have one formal and one casual photo and if you want to email photos
send to arnevik@northiowa.org
