Congratulations to the girls basketball team winning their district game last night with WCLT.  They will now play Friday evening at Clear Lake with Mason City Newman at 7:00 p.m.

 

Please dismiss the HS bowlers today at 3:00, as they will travel to Forest City.

 

The regional tournament for High School bowling will be at Waverly on Saturday, February 20.  Starting time is 11:00 AM.  All fans are welcome.

 

Student Council is dismissed at 11:50 and will have a working lunch meeting in Mrs. Recker’s room. 

 

Ms. Torney’s chemistry students need to report to her room at 12:20 today.  This is mandatory.

 

Jazz Band will rehearse during seminar today and Friday.

 

There will be a short FCCLA meeting in the FCS room at the beginning of seminar.  Check in with your Seminar teacher first and come down.  Be sure to come if you are interested in attending the State Leadership conference in March.

 

A pep bus will once again be offered to the Friday game in Mason City for the Girl District Basketball game. The cost to ride will be $5 and at LEAST 20 kids must sign up and pay by Friday noon for a bus to go.

 

The midterm for 3rd quarter classes will be this Friday, February 19th.

 

The Pennies for Patients Campaign has begun and all seminars are encouraged to participate in the fundraising.  Each seminar has a collection box for the program.  We will be collecting until the end of the month.  This year’s goal is to raise $4000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Iowa.  The proceeds go to research and helping families affected by childhood cancers. 

The NIACC rep will be here today.  The Marine Recruiter will be also be here today over the noon hour.

 

If you are interested in being on tech/stage crew for the musical, "Grease" sign up on the list in the media center.

 

All Seniors need to pay $25 to the HS office to help pay for graduation caps, gown, and stoles.   Due to snow days the deadline for payment will be February 19.

 

A Prom Book for this year's dresses will be available in the FCS room.  Bring in a picture of your dress to put in as soon as you have purchased it.

 

Students are invited to participate in the 2010 Junior Duck Stamp Contest.  There are four groups according to grade level:  K-3, 4-6, 7-9. 10-12.  Awards are as follows:  Three first place, three second place, and three third place entries, along with 16 honorable mentions will be chosen from each group.
