Great job to everyone at state speech!  There were four ones and one two.  Be preparing for individuals!

 

Individual Speech – Practice will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the multipurpse room.  Please give me your title and authors. I have category guidelines for all categories.  If you have a writing category (after dinner, review, expos, etc), start writing asap!

 

All 9th graders report to the auditorium at the beginning of 1st seminar today for a brief meeting in regards for the “Pennies for Patients” fund drive.

 

The prom committee will meet today in the ICN room at the beginning of second seminar.

 

Those interested in being on tech crew for the musical, sign up by the media center or by the networking room.  There will be a short meeting after school on Tuesday in the auditorium.

 

Any students that wants/needs to ride the activity shuttle needs to sign up in the HS office by noon each day.  Please indicate which town you need transportation for.

 

Friday, February 13 will be “I Hate Winter” day at North Iowa High School.  We will have periods 1 and 2, no seminar or periods 3 or 4.  Students will have the choice of several activities for the afternoon.  There will be sign up sheets in your Seminars.  Those interested in going to the YMCA in Forest City for the afternoon will need to pay $4.00.  Pay Vicki or Sheryl in the high school office. We will need students to sign up as soon as possible to make arrangements.

 

Note to seniors:  There has been a change as to the due date for senior pictures—February 13th.  One senior picture needs to be given to the high school office for the composite.  One sent electronically to the BC Tribune at bctrib@wctatel.net

and one sent electronically to Mr. Silber at tsilber@mchsi.com

 

A winter fitness club that meets in the gym lobby starting at 3:45 each Tuesday and Thursday.  It is open to anyone wanting to be active whether for athletics or just to be fit.  Contact Mr. Potter if would like more information – otherwise we’ll see you there.

 

North Iowa High School Dodge Ball Tournament will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the North Iowa Gym. $60 per team of 8 to 10 people. Must pay in advance and must be registered by Monday, February 16.  Contact Joy Gelhaus at 515-886-2220 to register.  Thanks for supporting After Prom.

 

Congratulations Crystal Siemasko and Brandy Bendickson with blue ribbons and Allyson Leesch with a red ribbon at District Basketball Special Olympics on Saturday in Forest City.  Great job.

 

The varsity basketball players bus will be leaving for Osage at 4:05 today. We will pick up in Thompson!

 

Happy belated birthdays to Cassandra Kemnitz and Jeb Kothenbeutel whose birthdays were on Wednesday, February 4th.  Hope you both had great birthdays!!
