General

Congratulations to the speech team on their performances on Saturday.  At the state contest, 9 or their 12 entries received 1's.  39 students participated at the State level and each student performed in at least one event  that earned a 1 rating.  The varsity news team was selected to perform at All-State and Erin Asmus was selected to perform her solo mime at All-State.

 

Those interested in tech crew for the musical, the meeting is rescheduled to 2nd seminar on Tuesday in the networking room.(next to the multipurpose room). Please plan to be there.

 

FFA Conduct of Meetings practice today and Thursday 1st seminar in Mr. Gerzema's room.

 

Iowa FFA Degree work time right after school Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the media center.

 

Concession workers Thursday night are the FFA varsity boys basketball players. Be at the stand at 6:20.

 

The Freshmen-Sophomore players bus will leave for Belmond today at 2:15 for their 4:00 game. The varsity bus will leave at 4:30 with pickup in Thompson. Make sure you have your uniforms, shoes, etc.

 

Students helping out with Daffodil Days will have a (rescheduled) meeting at 11:35 tomorrow (2/06) in the auditorium.  Tana Ree, Erin Asmus, Paula Larson, Kayla Hovland, Alyssa Meinders, Ashley Schlake should eat first lunch today, then start making phone calls.  You may pick up the telephone directory this morning from Vicki before making the calls. 

 

All speech students who plan to go to All-State need to stop in the Geometry room after school.

 

All speech students who wish to participate in individual speech must sign up after school or call.

 

Students make sure you have your planner/passport when transitioning when in the halls or signing out somewhere.

 

Extra Help sessions are provided in the Study Center room on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:00 pm for students wanting/needing some extra help with homework.  Most high school teachers are available before or after school to work with you as well.  If you need extra help with homework or need some guidance on assignments, the Extra Help sessions could be very helpful for you.  If transportation is a factor and keeps you from staying after school to get help, you are welcome to ride the shuttle bus.  Make sure you are doing everything you can to get homework and assignments completed and taking care of your academics.
