Varsity and Junior Varsity girls basketball players should meet after school in the locker room for pictures to be taken for the BC Tribune today. Please be ready to go by 3:45. Also, any varsity or JV girls basketball players who ordered pink shirts for the Coaches Vs Cancer game this Friday should bring their checks either today or tomorrow, made out to Chad Angel for the amount they owe. Prices were as follows: Short Sleeve T-shirts - $4.49. Long sleeve shirts - $7.49, and if you ordered both - $12.28. Please give your checks or money to Mr. Smith either today or tomorrow.

 

There is bowling practice today after school for the following: James Burke, Colby Smith, Taylor Thompson, John Burke, Justin Steinfeldt, Cody Adams; and all girls planning to attend regionals.

 

FFA and FCCLA members will need to vote today during seminars for the King and Sweetheart candidates. Report to your seminars first and then come to the ag room or the FCS room to vote during either seminar today.

 

FFA Concession workers Friday night are: Blake Huntington, Taylor Thomsen, Gabe Thomsen, and Garrett Asmus. Be at the stand by 5:55 so we can be open at 6:00.

 

Mr. Gerzema will be working with the following students 1st seminar on A days for a few days. Please dismiss the following starting today - Macy H. Maranda E. Anna S. Taylor T. Gabe T. Alex W. and Blake H.

 

Remember today is the last day to sign-up for any favorite songs you want used Friday night at the Sweetheart Dance.

 

The Sweetheart Dance is this Friday night after the Garner game from 9:30 - 11:30. You must also sign up any out of town dates, no junior high students are allowed.

 

State Large Group Speech Participants – we will leave at 4:15 a.m. from BC on Saturday the 7th.  We will also stop in Thompson.  Please be on time and ready to go!  We have very early performance times!  Check your email for a performance schedule.

 

Any students that wants/needs to ride the activity shuttle needs to sign up in the HS office by noon each day.  Please indicate which town you need transportation for.

 

Friday, February 13 will be “I Hate Winter” day at North Iowa High School.  We will have periods 1 and 2 but no 3 and 4.  Students will have the choice of several activities for the afternoon.  There will be sign up sheets in your Seminars.  Those interested in going to the YMCA in Forest City for the afternoon will need to pay $4.00.  We will need students to sign up as soon as possible to make arrangements.

 

 

Those students taking the ACT test should enter by the east door by Mr. Hill’s office on Saturday morning.  Please be here by 7:45 a.m. at the latest.  You need your admission sheet, #2 pencils, and an approved calculator.  I would suggest you dress in layers.

 

The FCCLA will be selling Valentine messages this week only, Monday thru Friday during lunch.  For $1, you may purchase a Sticker and write a special message to your Valentine.  It will be attached to a can of FANTA pop and delivered during the last hour of Feb. 13th. (B day) Flavors available will be orange, strawberry, or grape.

You need to know what class your Valentine has 8th hour.

 

FCCLA members- We need volunteers to sell Valentine messages during lunch this week.  No one has signed up for Monday through Thursday.  If you are willing to sell during the first lunch, please come to the FCS room and pick up the envelope with the messages and change.

 

Note to seniors:  There has been a change as to the due date for senior pictures—February 13th.  One senior picture needs to be given to the high school office for the composite.  One sent electronically to the BC Tribune at bctrib@wctatel.net

A winter fitness club that meets in the gym lobby starting at 3:45 each Tuesday and Thursday.  It is open to anyone wanting to be active whether for athletics or just to be fit.  Contact Mr. Potter if would like more information – otherwise we’ll see you there.

North Iowa High School Dodge Ball Tournament will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the North Iowa Gym. $60 per team of 8 to 10 people. Must pay in advance and must be registered by Monday, February 16.  Contact Joy Gelhaus at 515-886-2220 to register.  Thanks for supporting After Prom.

 

Only seniors who have turned in their permission slips are free to have open lunch.
