HS students:  Your help is needed/requested.  Haiti experienced a devastating earthquake on January 13 that has affected over 3 million people.  The death toll is estimated at about 200,000 people.  Most of the survivors are without food, water, shelter, and needed medical attention.  What can we do to help?  We can “Help the Sun Shine on Haiti” by donating money to the relief effort.  Any student who wants to donate to the cause is asked to bring money to his/her Seminar teacher by Friday, January 29.  Any student making a donation is encouraged to “Help the Sun Shine on Haiti” by wearing sunglasses, shorts, and/or a favorite hat.  Also, the Seminar that raises the most money will be given 1 day of an open campus privilege during their Seminar and lunch periods.  That is equal to over 1 hour of freedom!  Let’s rally together to help those in need in Haiti.  Thank you in advance for your donations to “Help the Sun Shine on Haiti”.

Students will have their lockers checked this week and next week during seminar with their seminar teachers.  Please follow the following schedule:  junior-senior boys today; junior-senior girls Friday; sophomore/freshmen boys Monday; sophomore/freshmen girls Tuesday.

It is appropriate, respectful, and expected that all students stand and remove their hats during the National Anthem at our school events (like tonight’s basketball games).  It is also appropriate and respectful to stand during our school song and while starting lineups are being announced.  Please show respect and school pride by doing these things.

Students:  Please remember to not bring food or drink to events like our basketball games where concessions are provided.  If you need/want to have food/drink from another venue, please consume these items before entering the school.

When attending school events, students are expected to remain in the building rather than go in and out.  If you leave the building during an event, you may not be allowed to re-enter.  Thanks for you cooperation.

Students interested in ice skating have the opportunity to ice skate at the Lion’s Club park in Buffalo Center.  The tennis courts at the park have been flooded and are now ice covered for your use.
