Good luck today
to the wrestlers
as they travel to Lake Mills and on Saturday when they travel to NIACC for
conference wrestling and hopefully a shot at the North Iowa Conference v Cornbowl Conference dual for the traveling trophy.
Coaches
v Cancer shirts are available for pick up today in the ELEM Media Center, if
you did not yesterday. Players will get theirs from coaches. Please support
your Bison as they face Newman again this year for the Coaches vs Cancer game at home on Friday. )
There will be a Destination DC Sloppy Joe Supper this Friday, Jan.
27th during the Newman vs. North Iowa basketball games.
Serving will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Commons, this is a freewill
donation. All proceeds will go to help pay for DC trip costs. We
will be serving Sloppy Joes, chips, bars, carrots and lemonade. Thank you
for supporting our 8th grade DC trip students.
Congratulations
to the Group Speech students on receiving “1’s” and moving onto to the State
Speech Contest! The performances were great! Good luck at
State! The groups consisted
of Readers Theatre, Choral Reading,
Short Film, Ensemble Acting, and Musical Theatre each received a 1
rating. These groups will all advance to state competition on Saturday
Feb 4th. Congratulations again and good luck at state.
The
Candidates for FCCLA and FFA Sweetheart King and Queen should meet at 12:30 on
Friday in the FCS room for pictures for the Tribune. Please dress nicely!
Workers for Friday night’s

High School 1st
semester recognition assembly will be held today from 2:45-3:30 in the
auditorium. There will be a shortened afternoon schedule. Students
should report straight to the auditorium after 8th period.
8th period students
in strengthening and conditioning class need to check a schedule that is posted
in the gym lobby.
Blue
Out night will be MONDAY, January 30th, when we host Forest City.
Driver’s Education Sign-up:
North Iowa is offering one
session of classes and 2 options for student driving times. Class
sessions for all students will begin March 3rd and will run through
May 12th. You can attend classes without a driving permit as
long as you hold a driving permit before your first scheduled drive. The
deadline to signup is February 24th. Cost is $220 (in district) and $240 (out of
district).
Wrestlers should be reporting
to their respective homerooms before being dismissed for practices. Once you report to your homeroom, you will be
excused to practice.
The Heartland
Power Scholarship deadline has been changed to February 1st. It
originally stated March 1st.
Seniors can submit two senior
photos for the yearbook, one more formal photo and the other casual if you
would like. The photos can be emailed to arnevik@northiowa.org or
the photos can be brought to the guidance office at the high school.
Please submit the photos as soon as possible.
