Week by his peers. Eric was spotted at the LMNK wrestling tournament on Saturday
supporting his fellow Bison!
Our pep rally and
recognition rally is postponed for today and will be held instead next
Tuesday, January 25th.
The following FFA members are
to work the concession stand at tonight’s basketball game: Kassi Quisling, Kelsey Griffin, Macie
Emery, Maria Mayland, Jessica Adams, Chance Mayland, and Daniel Miller.
If can’t be here please find a replacement. See Mr. Meyer before the end
of the day to find out when you need to be at the concession stand.
HS
students: We will be starting a new HS homework policy starting this
week. Students will have 3 days to turn in homework
assignments for any given class. Any homework assignment not turned in
before the 3 days will become a zero (no credit earned for that
assignment). Students who are absent fall under the make-up work policy
where they have 2 days to get work made up. Teachers can request that you
stay after school with them or come to school early to get work
completed. Detention may be assigned to students who do not stay after or
come early for a teacher. Our ultimate goal is to improve on getting
homework completed in a timely and adequate manner. Talk to your teachers
if you have any questions.
HS
students: Starting next week, any HS student who has all of their
homework adequately completed will be able to opt out of attending 9th
period Study Hall/Homeroom for certain designated days. Students who do
not have all homework for the week completed are required to attend their 9th
period Study Hall/Homeroom.
This
years Coaches v Cancer basketball games are at Newman on January 28th. Tshirts are being sold by both schools with profits being
donated to Coaches v Cancer. Orders must be paid for by Friday! See Dy to order!
There will be a brief meeting
on Wednesday during 9th hour for all current National Honor Society
members in Mr. Potter’s room. Please be prompt – the meeting will take
five minutes if everyone is on time.
Reader’s Theatre practice
will be held this week through Friday at 7:15 a.m. in the multipurpose
room. Breakfast provided.
Anyone interested
in being a big buddy, one day a week for 20 minutes during your P.E. study
hall should email Sarah Anderson with the day you have your study
hall. You must be passing all your classes and be a good role model to be
a big buddy.
Individual
Speech Contest sign up sheet is in Mr. Fisher's room. Be sure to get signed up before 1/21.
Students
that ordered letter jackets can expect them to be shipped January 27th and at
the school the first week of February.
Seniors please bring your
senior photos that you want in the yearbook to the high school office.
You can have one formal and one casual photo and if you want to email photos
send to arnevik@northiowa.org
Just a reminder to all those
wanting to be active over the winter months – we have a winter fitness club
that meets on Mondays and Thursdays after school at 3:40-4:30. If you
have any questions, contact Mr. Potter.
Volleyball
players if you did not turn in your uniform, please do this a.s.a.p. to Coach
