The Freshman-Sophomore player’s bus will leave for Garner at 2:40 today due to a 4:00 start. They will need to be dismissed from class at 2:30 this afternoon. The varsity players bus will leave at 4:40 this afternoon. We will pick up in Thompson. Remember your uniforms and shoes!!

 

TV News - Start taping at 9 on Saturday.  Meet at south high school doors.  Please have everything you need (stories, clothes, etc.) and be ready to go!

 

Reminder to all bowlers to be at Buffalo Lanes at 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning to leave for the tournament in Forest City.

 

Any student taking a NIACC course (Art Appreciation, Tech Essentials, Networking 3) will have a meeting during 2nd Seminar on Thursday, January 15 in the Multi-purpose room.

 

There will be a Tyler Olson benefit on Saturday, January 17th, 7:30 p.m. at the Surf ballroom.  Tickets for the dance are: Adult--$10; Student-$5; 4 person booth-$10; 6 person booth-$15; Table-$20; children 5 and under FREE.  Tickets may be purchased from the high school office or at the door.  Popcorn, pop and pizza will be vended in their own separate area.  There will also be numerous door prizes given throughout the evening to students.

 

There will also be a benefit raffle for Tyler Olson.  Tickets can be purchased from the high school office.  They are $1 each or 6 for $5; 12 for $10.  The winner will receive a free ticket to attend a 2009 Minnesota Twins regular season game with Tyler Olson and his family.  The winner will have the opportunity to be brought down onto the field with Tyler before the game starts. 

 

Choral Readers - we will practice from 4-5 on Monday and Thursday next week. Members are Alex Winter, Alyssa T., Amanda W., Becca S., Ben B., Brandi S., Elisa T., Holden A., Kirsten J., Kristine M., Rachel R., Samantha W. and Tony W.  Please try to be there.

 

Those students interested in participating in the Garner Quiz Bowl – there will be a selection meeting during 2nd seminar today.  If you would like to go, be sure to attend.  Eat 1st lunch if you do not normally do so – and be sure to alert your seminar teachers in advance.

 

Seniors need to pay $20 to the HS office to help pay for caps, gowns, stoles, and flowers for graduation.  Please pay by the end of January.

 

We have some students not using their assigned lockers and using other lockers.  If you are not using the locker assigned to you, you need to make arrangements with Mr. Embrock.  Mr. Embrock and the HS office need to know what locker you are using.  Also, lockers are still in need of cleaning.  There are several with garbage and unnecessary items.  Please clean up your lockers by Tuesday, January 13.  We will have a locker check during seminars on Tuesday, January 13.

 

The next FCCLA meeting will be held on Tuesday night, Feb. 13th, at 7:00 p.m.  Planning for the Valentines Day fundraiser and FCCLA week, as well as State conference will be on the agenda.  Refreshments will be brought by Amanda Willmert and Courtney Kahler.
