Happy New Year!  Welcome back students!

 

We have only 1 week left of our 1st semester.  The 1st semester ends on Monday, January 10.  Make sure you are working with your teachers and completing all necessary work for your courses.

 

The 2nd semester begins on Tuesday, January 11.  Some of you have not finalized your 2nd semester schedules.  Mr. Embrock or Mr. Huntington will be pulling you out of class to finish your schedules.

 

North Iowa welcomes back Mr. Mike Evans!  Mr. Evans has spent this past school as a school administrator in the country of Yemen.  He is here today to share his experiences at Yemen.  All students will be dismissed to go to the Auditorium at 8:55 am for an assembly with Mr. Evans.  Senior students will sit in the first 2 rows of the Auditorium.  9-11 graders will sit in the east chairs on the first level.  6-8 graders will sit in the west chairs on the first level.  Please be on your best behavior with cell phones off and be attentive during the presentation.  We will use the following adjusted schedule this morning:

 

Yemen Presentation by Mr. Evans – 9:00-10:10 am – Auditorium

A.M. schedule is as follows:  1st period – 8:25-8:55; 2nd period – 10:13-10:38; 3rd period – 10:41-11:06; 4th period – 11:09-11:35; HS 5th period – 11:38-12:10; MS & HS lunches at normal times.

 

Mr. Hinders has received information on the 2011 MSU Maverick Softball Camps (hitting, pitching, and catching). If interested see Mr. Hinders for a brochure.

 

The Fr-Soph players bus will leave at 2:45 for their game at Garner. Please release these individuals at 2:35. The varsity players bus will be leaving at 4:40 and will pick up in Thompson.

 

4th and 5th period Consumer Math students report directly to the High School Media Center all week to work on semester projects. Check your school email for details.

 

Large group speech practice schedule is as follows: 

Reader's theatre Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 7:30 AM Mr Fisher's.

Choral reading 9th hour Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Mr. Fisher's room.

All other teams see Mr. Fisher ASAP to schedule practice times.

 

Happy (belated) Birthday to Ryan Almelien, whose birthday was yesterday, January 3rd.  Happy birthday today, January 4th, to Justin Steinfeldt.  Hope you both have great birthdays!!
