KRIB-KLSS-KYTC RADIO TO BROADCAST
YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH TOWN HALL FORUM
With the recent events taking place with two area high school students, we
have decided that it is in the best interest of the radio stations to hold a
forum to allow the discussion of today's pressures on the youth in our
community, spotting depression, and other topics that our panelists will
think are important.
We have invited several people to take part in this forum. Ken Zimmerman of
the Mental Health Center of North Iowa, counselor Jim Anastasi, Dr. Ronald
Larsen of Mercy Behavioral Services, school psychologist Mark Shepp of
NTAEA, and others have agreed to participate, as they believe this would be
a proper way to discuss the issues at hand with youth in our community.
Students, parents, and teachers from area school districts are encouraged to
participate in the forum.
The forum will be held on May 14th at the Mason City Room of the Mason City
Public Library, starting at 7:00, and will be broadcast live on AM-1490
KRIB, 106.1-FM KLSS (Star 106), and KYTC 102.7-FM (KY-102.7). The broadcast
will also be telecast live on cable channel 5 in the following communities
served by Mediacom: Mason City, Clear Lake, Ventura, Cresco, Elma, Lime
Springs, Manly, Nashua, Nora Springs, Osage, Riceville, Rockford, St.
Ansgar, and Stacyville.
