The high school boys and girls track meet is cancelled for today. This track meet will not be made up.
Chosen from 2,000 applicants, Dr. Ellen Ochoa (1959-) became the first Hispanic female astronaut.
Critics all agreed that the exotic beauty and brilliant technique of Evelyn Cisneros (1958-) made her an outstanding prima ballerina.
The first time he ran for mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Henry Cisneros (1947) received 62% of the vote. Running for a second term, he received almost 95% of the vote. In 1993, he became the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in President Clinton's cabinet.

This week is Hispanic Culture Week our students in grades K-12 will be exposed to/and gain an appreciation for the Hispanic culture and its impact throughout our country's history.
The rep Luther College will be here today at 11:45. Luther College is located in beautiful Decorah, Iowa. Mr. Potter and Mrs. Nancy Sime are alums of this fine institution. Other former students who have attended Luther are Jen and Kristin Gerzema and Kate Swenson.
Any speech students interested in attending Forest Citys production, Flowers for Algernon should meet at the east side of the school at 5:00 tonight. The first six people may ride with Mrs. DeBoer. Contact Mrs. DeBoer if you plan to attend.
