Construction update from Kelly, Travis and Mr. Hill:
February 11 Meeting and Tour
   • On February 11 the general contractor, architect,  and school board
met to assess progress on the renovation project.
   • The group toured the site and heard presentation about
construction to date and the projected construction timeline.

Construction Timelines
  •  Construction has picked up since Christmas.
   • We are still roughly 2 1/2 week behinds where we had hoped
we would be at this point.

Color committee
   •  This committee worked very hard to come up with the
color combinations you see in the south display case near
       the auditorium.
   • The main hallways and cafeteria will be a surface similar to
that currently in the elementary hallways but in the colors
       on display.
   • In the media centers, the carpets will be different combinations
       and shades of blue.

Pouring Concrete for Hallways and Rooms
   • Beginning the week of March 18 the crew will be pouring more
hallway floors and the cafeteria area.
   • Block walls are in place for the first floor restrooms outside
the new media center, the cafeteria, kitchen, new locker
rooms, Voc. Ag. shop, and industrial arts shop.

Roofing
   •  The week of March 18 will see the roofing crew start to prep
the second floor roof for the rubber-bladder roof application.
   • Once the room is in place and the second floor is water tight,
the deck floor will be poured for the second floor.  Once the
deck floor has been poured walls will begin to go into place
on the second floor and exterior to the second floor.
Art Committee
   •  Mr. Swenson is heading up this committee.
   • This committee has held several meetings and is researching
ways to make our different part of the building blend into
       one uniform educational setting.
   • They are investigating a variety of art forms and locations.
Construction Cam
   •  The camera has been relocated to give a different view
       of the construction project.
   • A new feature is the time-lapsed video production showing
the different stages of the construction project up to
       this date.
   • Mr. Blodgett has done a great job pulling this all together in
an attempt to keep everyone more informed.
First Floor Restrooms
   •  The restrooms are taking shape.
   • Plumbing is in place and walls are almost complete.
   • A second floor set of restrooms will sit directly above the
       first floor set.
Construction Advisory Team  (C.A.T.)
   •   This group meets in the old Kindergarten Prep classroom
       every two weeks.
   • The group consists of Renae Nepstad, Diane Jacobson,
Pam Angstman, Dean Gerzema, Brian Blodgett, Heather Gerdes,
Kim Davids,  Lynn Evans, and Larry Hill.
   • This group is set up to advise the team on direction we need
to move when certain inconveniences arise with construction/
demolition.   They serve as a way to get info to all staff members.
Little Bison Childcare Center
   •  This is a brand new entity for us.
   • Our local city council and the local economic development group
each wrote grants that will help build an early childhood center
on the north side of the gym.  The building will run north and
south and be tucked up against the west side of the playground.
A large hallway/multi-purpose/storm shelter area will run along
the north wall of the gym and connect the existing building to the
       new center.
Playground Renovation
   •  We will be removing the asphalt on the playground, redesigning the
playground layout, and putting down new asphalt this summer.
   • New playground climbing equipment and swings are mandated and
       will be installed before fall.
   • The bulk of this renovation will be paid for by the playground
committee (an independent account) and from a grant.
Next Electrical Conversion
   •  The next major conversion of electricity will take place over
       our long Easter break.
