G) High School faculty members are working very hard on a process to review the content and the course offerings in our High School.   I applaud their effort and hard work.       Our elementary faculty needs to pick up the pace on revising our math benchmarks so we are positioned to make major improvements in our expectations regarding proficiency and mastery.

 H) October 11 will be the North Iowa Conference Staff Development day at NIACC.  Each teacher will be expected to take 30 copies of a lesson you teach that is very successful and meets a specific standard/benchmark.  Ms Geitzenauer will provide each of you with a cover sheet.

I) We had a good experience using pod-cast projection this past week.  The nationally broadcast program  ‘Cyber Citizens of the World Wide Web”   was attended by our 3rd and 4th graders.  While the technology is not perfect it still had a powerful message. Thank you to the 3rd/4th grade team for your cooperation.  A special thank you  to Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Blodgett for all their work coordinating the technology.

J) Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be October 30 (a Monday) and November 2 (a Thursday).

K) The First Quarter ends October 25.

. L)  How warm and welcoming is our building?

How do we greet guests to our building?

How do we greet our co-workers?

What image do we portray to the public?

You control your attitude.  You and only you control your attitude.

This is a wonderful place to work, teach, and learn.  Make it obvious to those we rub shoulders with daily and those who are guests to our building.

M) We have used a large number of substitute teachers already this year.  We are well above the normal trend.  Be aware of the impact it has on the students and the system when you are absent or ask to leave early.
