GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
A) Our Educational Philosophy
We believe the school
should actively develop a partnership involving parents and the community. The purpose of the partnership is to help
insure the learner achieve success.
B) ANNUAL PROGRESS
GOAL
Science
Long Term Goal: All
K-12 students will achieve at high levels in science, prepared for success
beyond high school.
Annual Goal: The percent
of students in grades 6, 8 and 11 that score at the intermediate level or
higher will increase (ITBS, ITED) or the percent of students scoring proficient
(3 or higher) will increase from fall to spring on the district science
assessment (grades 5-8 and 10)..
C) Great start to the 2007-2008 school
year. Thank you to everyone who went
the extra mile to make sure it was a great experience for children and
co-workers.
D) No School Monday, September 3 -----Labor Day
E) Swimming for PE. ----- weather permitting
F) It looks like the AEA will not allow the Character Education
class to be for graduate credit.
I hope they will grant license renewal credit in the near future.
G) Touch base with your students regarding the new
bullying/harassment policy.
H) Be at the recess door to walk your class back to your
room. Recess supervisors need to hold
the students until the teacher arrives to lead them.
I) We will have a stop light in the Commons in the near
future. The stop light automatically
monitors the level of voices and will flash yellow as a warning or red when all
talking stops because the volume was too loud.
J) October10 is our North Iowa
Conference Professional Development Day at NIACC. The planning committee will be meeting in the
very near future to put the final touches on the day and the follow-up. Daryl Scott will be our keynote speaker. His daughter was Rachel Scott. Rachel was the first child killed in the

Development Goal and your Team Goal.
L) ZERO TOLERANCE on the playground for fighting, arguing,
