North Iowa will be
hosting a PINK
OUT night at our last home
volleyball game October 14th. The volleyball girls will have pink
jerseys to wear for the game and we are offering PINK OUT shirts for sale for
people to wear to the game. Shirts are $7 and
must be PAID for by October 4th (MONDAY). We will also be having a jersey auction
following the game where the public will be able to bid on and purchase the
pink jerseys worn by the players.
Pink Out shirts will be available for anyone
(parents, elementary, middle, or high school) to order. Order forms will be in
the office and sent home with Elementary kids this week and also on the North
Iowa Homepage. Checks should be made payable to North Iowa High School. In
order for us to get them by October 13rd, we need to place the order on the 4th.
Orders for shirts will not be accepted after Monday. I apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause.
For those that are not in High School… I can
be found every afternoon from 12:30-3:30 in the High School media center.
Thanks! Dy Quisling
Punt,
Pass & Kick
- Friday, October 8 at Bison Football Field after Homecoming Parade sponsored
by Farmers Trust & Savings Bank. Age
7 through 14 (6-year-olds may also compete but will be put in the age 7 group). Participants must have signed registration
form with them. (forms were handed out in school) Each participant will receive a free juice
drink, candy bar and certificate for a hamburger special at the B.C.
Restaurant.

HOMEWORK: We are asking parents for some
assistance with Reading and Math homework. Please check your child’s’ bag
daily for Guided Reading, which will consist of a book and a half sheet of
paper in a plastic baggie. Please have them read the book (or section of
the book they were asked to read) to you and then sign the sheet of paper
indicating they have read it. In most cases, they will have read the book
in school so this will be a re-read, which will improve their reading fluency
and comprehension.
We are also sending home a small
amount of math homework. Typically flash cards or a fact sheet.
Just a few minutes of reading and math every night will make a significant
difference in your child’s academic success. Thank you for your support.
