Board Goal:

It is the goal of the North Iowa Community School District to encourage maximum community involvement in all district activities/decisions and as a result developing a pride in ownership by all community members and all patrons of the district.

 

Reading Achievement  Goal

Annual GoalTo increase the percent of students in grades 3-8 and 10 scoring at or above grade

level on the vocabulary sub-test of the Gates MacGinitie Reading Assessment.

 


Remember as a General Education teacher you are required to attend special education staffings and GEI brainstorming sessions.

 

Individual Professional Growth Plan and Team Professional Growth Plan----- all should be turned into Mr. Hill.

 

District-wide assessment ------- Please return to Mike Evans when completed or by Oct. 10

 

LESSON  PLANS ----- everyone needs to have them on-line by the end of the day on Friday.

 

“Soaring and Exploring” conference ----- Saturday, September 27 ---- NIACC ---- this is a wonderful conference focused on early childhood issues.

 

September 24 and 25 we will have hearing screening for K-Prep, Kindergarten, First, Second, and Eighth grade plus all new students to the district.    Both days will begin at 8:30.

ZERO  TOLERANCE  on the playground for fighting, arguing, teasing, or rough play.

Support Staff Update meetings ---- Sept. 25 (Thompson) and 26 (BC)

We are offering a pep bus to away games.   Students in middle school and high school are encouraged to sign up.

Training for Skills Iowa (Skills Tutor) will be September 24.  2:00 at the Middle School and 3:15 at the BC Building.  If any of the elementary teachers would like to attend the M/S secession and then work with the teachers at the middle school on the district wide assessment scoring you are welcome to do so.  Please let Mike Evans know ahead of time.

Be sure your child abuse training is up to date.  If your certificate was 2005 or prior you will need to complete the on-line training within the next two weeks.

Friday, September 26 is SPIRIT  DAY ----- Wear your Bison shirts !!!  GO  BIG  BLUE !!!!
