Board Goal:

It is the goal of the North Iowa Community School District to expect all district employees and elected officials to reflect fiscal responsibility and long-term fiscal planning.

Long Term Goal: North Iowa students will treat each other respectfully.

 

After School Special for students in grades 4 or 5 each Tuesday night from 3:30-4:30 in the Elementary Media Center.   Be sure to send notes home to parents of participants and notify Dyanna and Sheryl of those who will need to ride the 5:15 shuttle bus.

 

When will see the final snow flakes of 2008-2009??????

 

● Kindergarten  Round-up was a great success. The new format was very successful.  Thank you to all those who contributed to make it such a success.

 

Amazing 3rd Grade Healthy Food Fair ---- thank you to the Team Nutrition gang, teachers, staff and especially Kim Ostermann for all your hard work ---- it paid off!!!!!

      To start off with, there were 32 passengers on the bus.

● FANTASTIC and very productive Professional Development Day last Monday (March 30) --- thank you to everyone who worked to make the day such a success ----- sorry about the quality of the coffee!!??!?

 

We host several varsity and middle school track meets this spring.  Please sign up in the office to assist on running an event or helping in the “crow’s nest.”   Our track meets are a real showcase for our communities and our district.

 

Tornado and Fire drills begin this week.   Review procedures with your students.  Know where to go regardless of where you are in the building at the time an alarm might sound.  BE  SAFE.  PLAN  AHEAD!!!

NIHS Blood Drive – April 6 - 2 pm to 7 pm. thank you to Mrs. Aukes and our wonderful high school volunteers.

● Grandparent’s Day 2009 will be Friday, April 17 --- 2:30 p.m. ---- Commons and Multi-purpose room --- Kindergarten and First Grade.

● Prom 2009 ----- April 25

● North Iowa Community Schools Volunteer Appreciation luncheon will be Tuesday, May 5, 2:00 p.m.

● Tuesday, June 2 is a professional development day due to snow days.

 

  “PROCEDURES   MUST  BE  PRACTICED.”   Harry Wong ------ Recess rules need to be practiced.  Lining up when the whistle blows is a procedure.  Practice it ---- explain the purpose for the rule.  Be consistent in how the rule is enforced.   Now that we have returned from Christmas it is especially important to review procedures and practice them over and over again.
