It is the goal of the North Iowa Community School District to reflect a student centered atmosphere in every offering or action taken by the school board, administrative team, faculty, and support staff.

 

Math Achievement  Goals

Long Term Goal: All K-12 students will achieve at high levels in mathematics, prepared for success

beyond high school.

 

 

 

After School Special for students in grades 4 or 5 each Tuesday night from 3:30-4:30 in the Elementary Media Center.   Be sure to send notes home to parents of participants and notify Dyanna and Sheryl of those who will need to ride the 5:15 shuttle bus.

 

Outstanding staff development day last Wednesday.   Thank you to everyone for such an uplifting and fun elementary faculty meeting.

 

● “PROCEDURES MUST BE PRACTICED.”   Harry Wong ------ Recess rules need to be practiced.  Lining up when the whistle blows is a procedure.  Practice it ---- explain the purpose for the rule.  Be consistent in how the rule is enforced.   Now that we have returned from Christmas it is especially important to review procedures and practice them over and over again.

Next “DINNER WITH  DAD”  is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17.

● March 30 is a full day for staff development ----- NO SCHOOL  FOR   STUDENTS.

NIHS Blood Drive – April 6 - 2 pm to 7 pm.

● Tuesday, June 2 is a professional development day due to snow days.

      • do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescription yet the healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front of the same store
      • do people order a double cheeseburger, large fries, and diet soda
      • do banks leave all the doors unlocked but chain down the pens
      • do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and store useless junk in a nice garage
      • do we buy hot dogs in packs of ten and buns in packs of eight
      • do we have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering
