A) BOARD GOALS

Science
Long Term Goal: All
K-12 students will achieve at high levels in science, prepared for success
beyond high school.
Annual Goal: The percent
of students in grades 6, 8 and 11 that score at the intermediate level or
higher will increase (ITBS, ITED) or the percent of students scoring proficient
(3 or higher) will increase from fall to spring on the district science
assessment (grades 5-8 and 10).
C) December 21 and January 2 are Professional
Development Days. December 21 is at
the Elem/HS and January 2 is at the middle school.
D) Weather announcements are listed on the following radio
stations:
KIOW, KJLY, KFMC, KGLO, KLSS/KRIB, KLGA, KBEW.
KIMT- TV 3 is the television
station we notify.
We also utilize the parent
alert system (e-mail or text message) and the district Homepage to notify
parents, students, employees and the public regarding weather announcements.
E) Fuel Oil costs have increased over
300% in the last four years. That
expense comes directly out of the General Fund. That impact all available
discretionary funds (classroom budgets, salaries, technology, supplies, etc.)

Classroom Christmas parties this week. Please
let Rena know when your class party will take place.
Please
invite parents to help with the parties --- I know we have several parents who
would love to assist you.
G) Thank you in
advance to Mr. Huntington for his work pulling together the Christmas gathering
scheduled for December 21. It will be a great evening of fellowship with
faculty, staff, and family members.

Greek Salad
Half a
cucumber For
the dressing:
1 lb.
ripe tomatoes 1
clove of garlic
1 red
onion 4 tbs. olive oil
7 oz.
package feta cheese 1
tbs. white wine vinegar
3 oz.
pitted black or green olives, drained ¼
tsp. dried oregano
a
pinch of sugar
a pinch of salt and of ground
black pepper
eat on the day you make it and
serve with bread rolls.
1. Cut the ends off the
cucumber, then cut it in half along its length.
Lay each half flat side down, then cut the cucumber into thin slices.
2. Cut the tomatoes into
quarters, then cut out the green cores.
Then, put the tomato quarters and cucumber slices into a large bowl.
3. Peel the papery skin off the
red onion. Cut the onion into quarters,
then carefully cut each quarter into slices.
4. Cut the feta into cubes,
then add it to the bowl. Add the onion
and most of the olives, then use your hands to mix everything together.
5. Peel and crush the
garlic. Then, put the oil, vinegar,
garlic, oregano, sugar, salt and pepper into a jar, screw the lid on tightly.
6. Shake the jar well. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and mix
it in. Then, scatter the rest of the
olives over the top.
