GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A) BOARD GOALS

It is the goal of the North Iowa Community School District to encourage maximum community involvement in all district activities/decisions and as a result developing a pride in ownership by all community members and all patrons of the district. .

 

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS GOALS

Math

Long Term Goal: All K-12 students will achieve at high levels in mathematics, prepared for success beyond high school.

 

Annual Goal: The percent of students scoring proficient (70%) on the district Computation Test (grades 2-8) and the district Algebra Test (grade 10) will increase using two-year averaging.

D)  Next Elementary Faculty Meeting is Monday, December 11 --- 3:45--- Elem. Media Center

AGENDA  ITEM:  Bring a list of times/dates and types of assessments you use to measure student proficiency around Math Standard 1 Level 1 ---- if you have more than one benchmark for your level of that Standard select the first benchmark listed.  Keep in mind if this is going go be a benchmark we will hold all students at this level accountable for we need to teach and assess the concept 20-30 times throughout the school year and assess it in a variety of ways.

 

E)  All grades will have Christmas parties.  Contact parents to assist your class with the party.  They can be setting up and cleaning up while you interact with your students in a fun activity.

 

F)   Wasn’t it a wonderful Elementary Christmas Concert --- Thank you to Mr. Kakacek for all his work pulling the program together.  Thank you to those who stepped up and helped decorate. 

 

G) District Wellness Committee will re-convene on Thursday, December 14 at 4:30 p.m.

 

. H) Staff Development December 21 and January 3, 2007 ---- both days are from 8:00 – 3:30.  Would these be good days to share some holiday treats with co-workers?????
