GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A) BROAD PROGRAM GOALS

We must provide students with an understanding of the global nature of society, the interdependence of the world’s people, and their effect on the world’s environment.

 

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS GOALS

Culture Climate for Learning

Long Term Goal: North Iowa students will treat each other respectfully.

 

Annual Goal: The percent of students responding 3 or higher on question 6 of the Building Tomorrow Survey will increase.

 

C)  Thank you to everyone who had a role to play in the dedication, design, placement, or funding of the “LOVE  OF  LEARNING”   statue.  A special think you to the hard working district Art Committee.

F) Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the planning and implementation of the 2005 PARENTING  FAIR.  The Early Childhood Committee suggested the change in topic for this year and the timing could not have been better.  Several committee members and elementary teachers have volunteered to serve as facilitators for the small group break-out session following the large group presentation.   Thank you to everyone.

 

G) Take a moment to call a few families from you class to encourage them to attend the PARENTING FAIR.

 

H)  DECEMBER  5 ---- Teacher Inservice --- 1:10/1:30 dismissal.

 

I) PARENTING  FAIR  INCENTIVE :  The elementary section that has the highest percentage of parents attend the PARENTING  FAIR  will receive a pop and popcorn party next week (the teacher will select the day and time).  By counting all the potential parents, children from single parent households are not at a disadvantage.   The winning group is the group with the highest percentage in attendance.  If a parent has children in several grades the child in each grade gets credit for their attendance.

 

J) There are door prizes for the PARENTING  FAIR.

 

K) Respect.   Responsibility.  Good Citizenship.   Good  Sportsmanship.
