. • Veterans Day is Tuesday, November 11 ------ the high school and grades 4 & 5 will take part in an assembly in the auditorium at 8:30 a.m.

.   There is a Veterans Day activity in your mailbox.  Take a moment to discuss why Veterans Day takes place and the sacrifices our women and men have made to protect our freedoms and rights.

Thank you to all those who have worked so hard to make connections for students around the election.   Thank you to Kim Ostermann and Deb Aukes for their efforts around Team Nutrition and the ties to the election.  Wasn’t all those activities fun.  Thank to the entire staff who contributed and took part.

We hosted  Darrin Miller, professional chef,  last Tuesday as part of our Team Nutrition efforts.

Out students made a very positive impression on him and the press.  I think it would be appropriate to have each class send him a THANK YOU.    Bring your class thank you notes to Sheryl Davids by Tuesday and she will mail them in one package.

Our students did a great job performing our fall play,   “Phantom of the Soap Opera.”

The short sneak peak matinee on Thursday was great for our students to see what it takes to put on such a performance an all the potential roles behind the scenes. A SPECIAL  THANK  YOU  TO   ALL  THOSE  WHO  ATTENDED.  It means so much to the students to see you there.

The 403B meeting scheduled for Wednesday is an optional meeting.  No one is required to attend.  Keep in mind you need to contact your provider and have all the forms to Cheryl Benn in the very near future.

Next Special Education Team meeting is Thursday, November 13 ----- 4:00 --- AEA room.

VSA arts of Iowa “Arts for Children” is sending us Gwynne Burke on November 18th.  We will use the old lunchroom, so she can have it totally dark for the puppets she is bringing.  Talk to Susan Keil if you have any questions. Schedule as follows:

9:30-10:30 – K-Prep and 5th grades = 47

10:35-11:35 – 4th grade and Eichenberger = 49

12:45-1:45 – 1st grade and kindergarten = 53

1:50-2:50 – 3rd grade and Leerar = 47

Please remind your students the cooks request that no food is disposed of in the wastebaskets.  All leftover food should stay on student plates.  Throw only paper products in the wastebaskets.  Thanks.

.Remember as a General Education teacher you are required to attend special education staffings and GEI brainstorming sessions

Respect and Responsibility -------------- How often do your students use the phases “PLEASE”  and  “THANK YOU?”.

. • The 50th day of school has come and gone and I still can not get that hair stuff out of my hair?!!?!??!?  The memory of the “Fonz” is still safe!?!???!?

November 15 is Bucks for Boosters.  Our music booster group does wonderful things for our students ---- please support his great fundraiser.

• Your webpage should be up and running.  Keep in mind no one is required to put personal information on their webpage if they are not comfortable sharing that information.   The purpose behind your webpage is to be another communications tool with parents (assignments, useful websites, spelling lists, upcoming events, etc.).
