GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A) BROAD PROGRAM GOALS

We must help students understand and acquire the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and values necessary to participate in a democratic society.

 

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS GOALS

Science

Long Term Goal: All K-12 students will achieve at high levels in science, prepared for success beyond high school.

 

Annual Goal: The percent of students in grades 6, 8 and 11 that score at the intermediate level or higher will increase (ITBS, ITED) or the percent of students scoring proficient (3 or higher) will increase from fall to spring on the district science assessment (grades 5-8 and 10).

 

c)The Mighty Bison Wrestling Club will start practice again on Monday, November 7. 5th thru 8th grades will start at 5:30. All other grades will start at 6:00.  Practice will end at 7:00 for all grades. There will be a short parents meeting after practice. I encourage everyone to come have a great time!

 

d)  Super job at last week’s Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences

g) If someone missed their scheduled Parent-Teacher conference ----- please schedule another opportunity to meet  OR  conduct a telephone conference.   We   WILL   have  100% participation in conferences.

 

h) Make every effort to support the High School Fall Play participants at the end of this week. They have put a great deal of work into this performance and had to work around demolition and construction.

 

i)How do you assess growth toward the benchmarks listed as indicators of specific standards for your grade-level or content?   Are we utilizing standards-based teaching strategies?

m) ELECTRONIC  GRADE  BOOK  COMMITTEE:  Connie Brooks, Allen Twait, Sue Sime, Louise Hagedorn.   Our remaining meetings will be November 14, November 28, and December 19.  We will meet in the HS media center at 3:40.

 

n) NOVEMBER 15 WILL BE THE 2005 PARENTING FAIR.  The elementary early childhood committee is coordinating the effort.   The early childhood committee has great things planned.  A  REMINDER  flyer will go home at the end of the week.
